Job summary

Qualifications

  • Graduate in any discipline; qualification in Hotel Management, Sales, Marketing or Business Administration will be an advantage.
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in hotel/resort sales, preferably with strong exposure to upscale or five star hospitality.
  • Strong local market expertise in Kochi/Kerala with a proven network across corporate, MICE, weddings/events, travel trade and hospitality segments.
  • Proven experience in room sales, banquet sales, corporate/MICE business, online hotel bookings and promotional activities.
  • Prior experience in a managerial/department head role with team handling responsibility is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Head the Sales & Marketing Department and develop annual sales and marketing plans aligned with the resort's revenue and business objectives.
  • Drive room sales through corporate accounts, travel agents, tour operators, MICE, leisure segments, groups and other identified market opportunities.
  • Lead banquet and event sales, including conferences, weddings, social functions, corporate events and group business.
  • Oversee and coordinate the Reservations function to ensure timely enquiry handling, conversion, rate discipline, inventory coordination and guest communication.
  • Work closely with Revenue, Front Office and Reservations teams to maximize online hotel bookings, occupancy, average room rate and channel performance.
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns, promotions, seasonal packages, digital initiatives, hotel events and promotional activities to improve brand visibility and revenue.
  • Identify new markets, accounts, partnerships and revenue opportunities, with strong focus on incremental sales and measurable business growth.
  • Maintain regular contact with key clients and conduct sales calls, client visits, presentations, site inspections, networking and business development travel.
  • Monitor competitor activities, market trends, pricing, demand patterns and customer feedback, and recommend appropriate sales and marketing actions.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the Kochi and Kerala hospitality market, including local demand patterns, seasonality, citywide events, competitor positioning and emerging business opportunities.
  • Develop and leverage relationships with local corporates, MICE organizers, event and wedding planners, travel agents, tour operators, destination management companies and other key business partners to generate incremental room, banquet and event revenue.
  • Continuously identify and penetrate new local accounts and market segments, while strengthening existing client relationships and improving the resort's share of business within the Kochi market.
  • Coordinate with Food & Beverage, Banquets, Front Office, Revenue, Finance and other departments for smooth execution of confirmed business and promotional initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate sales forecasting, account management, lead follow-up, conversion tracking and achievement of departmental targets.
  • Manage, guide and motivate the Sales & Marketing team; allocate territories/accounts, review productivity, conduct performance reviews and support training and development.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports, sales reports, forecasts, market intelligence, business conversion reports and management presentations.
  • Participate in budgeting and business planning, and control departmental expenses within approved budgets.
  • Represent the resort professionally at trade events, roadshows, exhibitions, client meetings and promotional events as required.

Job Purpose
