Job summary

Hyosungtndindia is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer in India’s Andhra Pradesh region to oversee HSE compliance, conduct inspections, and drive corrective actions. The role includes training, toolbox talks, and monitoring PPE usage to protect people and property.

The candidate will lead risk assessments, monitor high-risk activities, and coordinate emergency response planning, while maintaining comprehensive safety records and reports for management.

Qualifications

• Engineering graduate with Diploma in Industrial Safety or BS in Engineering with Diploma in Industrial Safety.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and policies.
• conduct regular workplace safety inspections and identify hazards.
• Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate unsafe conditions.
• Develop, implement, and monitor safety procedures, standards, and work instructions.
• Conduct safety induction training for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Organize safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness programs.
• Monitor proper use of PPE and ensure availability.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare investigation reports.
• Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, training, audits, and compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for activities.
• Monitor high-risk activities like working at height, confined space entry, hot work, lifting, electrical work.
• Ensure emergency preparedness with mock drills and response plans.
• Coordinate with emergency services and medical personnel when required.
• Inspect firefighting equipment, emergency exits, first aid facilities, and safety systems.
• Promote a positive safety culture through engagement and improvement initiatives.
• Participate in audits and close audit findings.
• Monitor contractor safety performance and compliance with site safety requirements.
• Review safety permits and ensure permit systems are followed.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports for management.
• Assist management in achieving health, safety, and environmental objectives.
• Stop any unsafe work posing immediate risk to people or environment.
• Ensure housekeeping standards throughout the workplace.
• Monitor environmental controls related to waste, pollution prevention, and spill response.
• Stay updated with changes in safety regulations and best practices.
• Support continuous improvement by recommending safety enhancements.

Requirements

• Experience: 2 to5 Years
• Qualification:
  • Engineering graduate with two years'experience and Diploma in Industrial Safety
  • Alternatively, Bachelor of Science/ Diplomain Engineering with 5 years' experience and Diploma in Industrial Safety
• 5-Day Work Week.
