Job summary

Aakar Foundry in Maharashtra seeks an experienced EHS professional to ensure statutory safety compliance and lead audits across the plant. You will monitor hazardous conditions, perform risk assessments and drive corrective actions in line with ISO 45001 / IS0 14001 requirements.

The role requires 7+ years in industrial safety, with strong knowledge of LOTO, PTW, HIRA/JSA, and emergency preparedness. Collaboration with Production, Maintenance and HR is essential for effective safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Industrial Safety / EHS.
  • Graduate / Diploma in Industrial Safety, Fire & Safety, EHS or relevant discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Factory Safety, Risk Assessment, HIRA/JSA, LOTO, PTW, and Emergency Preparedness.
  • Experience in Furnace, Molten Metal Handling, Die Casting or related safety preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and safety MIS reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor hazardous conditions and implement corrective measures to ensure safety.
  • Conduct Safety Inspections, risk assessments, HIRA/JSA and audits with timely closures.
  • Ensure safety controls for furnace and metal handling operations.
  • Implement LOTO, PTW, machine guarding, interlocking and emergency stop systems.
  • Investigate accidents and near-misses and drive corrective actions.
  • Maintain EHS documentation and safety KPIs for audits and compliance.

Job description

Ensure compliance with applicable Statutory / Government Safety Rules and Regulations, and support statutory, customer and certification audits.Role & responsibilities
  • Monitor and assess hazardous and unsafe conditions and implement effective corrective measures to ensure employee safety
  • Conduct Safety Inspections, Risk Assessments, HIRA/JSA and Safety Audits, and ensure timely closure of identified observations.
  • Ensure safety controls for Furnace, Molten Metal Handling, Die Casting, Fettling, Grinding, Shot Blasting, Deburring and Material Handling operations.
  • Ensure implementation of LOTO, Permit-to-Work (PTW), Machine Guarding, Interlocking and Emergency Stop systems for high-risk activities.
  • Monitor and investigate Accidents, Near Misses, Unsafe Acts and Unsafe Conditions, identify root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Statutory / Government Safety Rules and Regulations, and support statutory, customer and certification audits.
  • Manage Fire Safety, Emergency Preparedness, First Aid and Mock Drills, including fire extinguishers, hydrant systems and emergency response arrangements.
  • Monitor PPE compliance, contractor safety, safety induction, toolbox talks and safety training for employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Monitor Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene parameters such as noise, heat stress, dust/fumes, illumination and ventilation, and ensure corrective actions.
  • Maintain EHS / ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 / IATF 16949 documentation and Safety MIS, including safety KPIs, accident reports, near-miss reports and corrective-action records.
Preferred candidate profile
  • 7 years of relevant experience in Industrial Safety / EHS, preferably in Foundry, Die Casting, Automobile or Manufacturing industry.
  • Graduate / Diploma in Industrial Safety, Fire & Safety, EHS or relevant discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Factory Safety, Risk Assessment, HIRA/JSA, LOTO, PTW and Emergency Preparedness.
  • Practical experience in Furnace, Molten Metal Handling, Die Casting, Grinding, Fettling, Shot Blasting and Material Handling safety will be preferred.
  • Good knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949 and applicable statutory / legal requirements.
  • Experience in Safety Audits, Accident / Near Miss Investigation, Fire Safety, Mock Drills and Safety Training.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel and Safety documentation / MIS reporting.
  • Ability to independently identify safety risks and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Candidate should be proactive, disciplined and capable of coordinating with Production, Maintenance, HR and other departments for effective safety compliance.
