Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
  • Professional safety certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA-30 or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar compliance/safety role.
  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills for conducting training.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and update workplace health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with local and international regulations (e.g., OSHA).
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Assess risks and design risk-reduction strategies for various operational activities.
  • Organize and conduct safety training sessions, drills, and onboarding orientations for employees and contractors.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, near-misses, or injuries to determine root causes and provide actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain detailed records of all safety-related incidents, inspections, and training; prepare official safety reports for management and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment, PPE, fire extinguishers, and first-aid kits are properly maintained and utilized.
  • Establish and manage emergency response plans (evacuation plans for fires or natural disasters).

Job description

We arelooking for a diligent and proactive Safety Officer to join our team. Inthis role, you will be responsible for minimizing the risk of job-relatedaccidents, injuries, and illnesses. Your primary goal will be to develop aculture of safety across the organization, ensuring all employees follow safetyregulations and policies, and that our workplace remains safe and compliantwith occupational health and safety laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, andupdate workplace health and safety policies and procedures in accordance withlocal and international regulations (e.g., OSHA).
  • Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular workplaceinspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensurecompliance.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience as aSafety Officer or in a similar compliance/safety role.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of legalhealth and safety guidelines and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication andpublic speaking skills for conducting training.
  • Strong observational skillsand attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm andlead during emergency situations.
  • Proficiency in dataanalysis and report writing.
