Job summary

Australian Premium Solar (India) Ltd. in Gujarat is seeking a Safety Officer to ensure EHS compliance at the plant. You will conduct daily safety inspections, implement HIRA/JSA, monitor PPE usage, and drive fire safety and emergency drills.

A Diploma in Fire & Safety or Industrial Safety is required, with good communication and willingness to work in rotating shifts. Experience with PTW, LOTO, and incident reporting is a plus, and you will maintain safety records and coordinate across

  • Strong knowledge of basic industrial safety practices and PPE usage.
  • Understanding of HIRA, JSA, LOTO, PTW and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to prepare safety reports and maintain documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily safety inspections across the plant and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
  • Prepare and implement HIRA/JSA for production, maintenance, and other workplace activities.
  • Monitor and ensure proper PPE compliance among employees and contractors.
  • Support fire prevention activities and emergency preparedness, including drills.
  • Inspect fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, and other emergency equipment.
  • Maintain safety inspection, training, and compliance records.
  • Coordinate with departments regarding safety-related issues.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts and conduct safety rounds across shifts.

  • Diploma in Fire & Safety / Industrial Safety
  • Candidates with relevant Fire & Safety or Industrial Safety qualifications will be preferred.
Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily safety inspections across the plant and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
  • Prepare and implement HIRA/JSA for production, maintenance, and other workplace activities.
  • Monitor and ensure proper PPE compliance among employees and contractors.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures.
  • Monitor machine guarding and ensure compliance with machine safety requirements.
  • Monitor electrical safety, electrical panels, and related workplace practices.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness/training sessions for employees and contractors.
  • Support fire prevention activities and emergency preparedness.
  • Inspect fire extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, and other emergency equipment regularly.
  • Conduct and assist in fire drills and emergency mock drills.
  • Maintain safety inspection, training, and compliance records.
  • Report and assist in the investigation of accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor contractor/vendor safety and ensure compliance with company safety procedures.
  • Ensure safe material handling, lifting, stacking, and storage practices.
  • Monitor work-at-height activities and ensure appropriate safety measures are followed.
  • Support and monitor the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system.
  • Ensure emergency exits, evacuation routes, and access areas remain clear at all times.
  • Conduct safety induction programs for new employees and contractors.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly EHS/safety reports.
  • Support statutory safety compliance, inspections, and internal/external safety audits.
  • Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, HR, and Security departments regarding safety-related issues.
  • Conduct safety rounds during all rotational shifts, as required.
  • Maintain records of incidents, corrective actions, and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Follow up on identified safety observations and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Qualification in Industrial Safety / Fire & Safety.
  • Good knowledge of basic industrial/factory safety practices.
  • Basic knowledge of fire prevention and firefighting systems.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid.
  • Good understanding of PPE and its proper usage.
  • Basic understanding of HIRA, JSA, LOTO, PTW, and emergency procedures.
  • Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
  • Ability to prepare safety reports and maintain documentation.
  • Gujarati/Hindi communication ability will be preferred.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts and conduct safety rounds across shifts.
