Job summary

Asian Paints Limited is seeking a safety professional to manage industrial safety in the plant. You will conduct inductions, lead training, drive safety rounds, and coordinate toolbox talks to promote a safe working environment.

The role involves audits, CAPA, incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and permit systems. Candidate should hold relevant industrial safety diplomas and have 1-3 years of experience in industrial safety to support process safety

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Industrial Safety recognized by State govt.
  • Diploma in Chemical Safety, Fire and Safety or Mechanical safety.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety induction and continuous training for all entrants and employees.
  • Lead safety rounds, audits, inspections and CAPA implementation.
  • Coordinate toolbox talks, safety communications, and hazard identification.
  • Support PSM, BBS, risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with permits, LOTO, and statutory safety regulations.

  • Conduct safety Induction program for all new entrants and continuous training programs for all employees working in the plant.
  • Conduct Mock drills on Emergency situations
  • Attend safety meetings in the plant and closing safety points of such meetings.
  • Conduct Safety round and sharing observation report on daily basis.
  • Conduct and ensure Tool box talk for all employees.
  • Ensure safety communication arrangements through Displays, Safety Signs, In House Magazines, Safety Literature, Annual Plant Safety Performance Report etc.
  • Involvement in safety goal/target setting, Improvement project, Safety Suggestion Scheme, Safety Promotional activities etc.
  • Maintain training and competency level required to manage and maintain equipment and perform testing per the appropriate standards and procedures
  • Safety Audits and Inspections
  • Ensure statutory inspection for all lifting tools& tackles and pressure vessels through third party.
  • Conduct non statutory inspections for the plant
  • Comply ESS and GRC portal
  • Participation in safety audits and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for points of safety audits
  • Involvement in the process of hazard identification and risk assessment
  • Conduct Job safety analysis for construction activities
  • Involvement in statutory assessment of contractor from safety point of view
  • Controlling contractors through regular monitoring, reward & penalty system and performance review of Contractor
  • Inspect all safety equipment and maintain them in good manner
  • Safety and fire Control system
  • Ensure good health of safety guards, safety interlocks, hand tools and power tools in the plant
  • Ensure 100% compliance with work permit system and safe isolation procedure
  • Study and control hazardous substances in the plant
  • Procurement and maintain personal protective equipment in the plant.
  • Monitoring noise, ventilation and dust in the workplace
  • Inspection of electrical equipment and installation
  • Ensure fire risk of hazardous area in the plant
  • Ensure maintenance of firefighting equipment and documentation
  • Ensure healthiness of fire alarm system
  • Train employees on emergency planning
  • Safety performance & measurement
  • Report all incidents including near miss on ESS
  • Ensure investigation of all incidents including near miss
  • Maintain data of incident trend analysis
  • Recognizing and Managing Potential Loss Areas

  • Ensure 5S in the plant
  • Handling Fire Fighting system
  • Risk assessment, Hazop study, Factories Act, FMEA, legal frameworks for safety
  • Interlocks and their operation, fire hydrant systems, maintenance of fire hydrant systems, fire extinguishers and their operation.
  • Process Safety Management
  • Ensure to sets and enforces the legal and technical requirements for PSM.
  • Ensure to provide guidance and support for the implementation and improvement of PSM.
  • Support in inspections, audits, and investigations to verify the compliance and performance of the organization.
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential risks.
  • Works with corporate safety and refining technical groups to develop goals, standards, policies, work practices and expectations regarding corporate process safety management (PSM) program.
  • Be responsible for the ownership for execution of projects and action items related PSM.
  • Ensure all changes to processes are controlled through Management of Change and Pre-Startup Safety Review procedures
  • Behavior Base Safety (BBS)
  • Ensure to focus attention on workers' behavior as the cause of most work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Develop BBS checklist isa direct-observation tool used to recognize safe behavior and eliminate the root cause of unsafe acts.
  • Covering 100 % employees for induction
  • No violation with permit / LOTO system
  • 100 % reporting of incidents
  • Attending assigned safety meetings
  • Minimum 2 TBT in a day
  • Participation in assigned HIRA
  • 1 man-day/ year
  • 100 % compliance with ESS inspections
  • Safety week celebration each year
  • All time availability of appropriate PPEs
  • No fire accident at site
  • 100 % compliance with ESS & GRC
  • 100 & compliance with statutory requirements
  • Complete process safety reviews and develop recommendations for addressing process safety issues
  • Provide risk assessment through the use of risk analysis techniques and tools
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes
  • Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment
  • Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases
  • Recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to work hazards
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents
  • Review employee safety programs to determine their adequacy
  • Provide coaching to plants on identification and resolution of process safety issues
