TSIL is seeking a Trainee Safety Officer to join our Chennai plant. The role involves planning and implementing OHS policies, guiding employees on safety practices, and coordinating with HR for onboarding focused on safety.

Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, maintaining safety equipment, and leading safety audits and committee meetings to drive corrective actions.

Formación

• 0–1 year of safety experience is preferred.
• Willingness to work in a factory/plant environment.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and implement OHS policies and programs.
• Advise and lead employees on safety-related topics.
• Review existing policies and procedures for safety compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify bottlenecks to safety improvements.
• Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes.
• Monitor and maintain PPE stock, fire safety equipment and first aid supplies.
• Conduct safety committee meetings and record minutes for corrective actions.
• Conduct safety audits across the plant and take appropriate actions.

Job Description

• Plan and implement OHS policies and programs Advise and lead employeeson various safety-related topics.
• Review existing policies andprocedures Adhere to all the rules and regulations Work with HR to set up a newemployee on-boarding process for safety Conduct risk assessment
• Enforce preventative measures Identify process bottlenecks and offertimely solutions
• Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules andregulations
• Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determinecauses
• Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that couldharm employees' safety
• Conduct Safety Committee meetings, record the minutes and present to themanagement to take corrective actions.
• To conduct the safety audit across the plant and take appropriateactions against the observations.
• Monitoring and maintenance of Fire hydrant, fire extinguisher, first aidbox and PPE stock.
• To conduct the safety training for new employees.
• Daily monitoring the plant abnormal conditions and escalated the pointsinto the morning meeting and take actions against the abnormalities.
• The safety officer is responsible for monitoring the storage anddisposal of Hazardous waste.
• Developing measures to assure the personnel safety.
• To prepare and monitoring safety precaution of welding workplace acrossthe plant.
• To check the work permit towork system for Height work, Hot work, Electrical work etc…
