Work Description
As a Robotics Research Engineer, you will be involved in building the software stack for Perceptyne’s Humanoid / Semi-Humanoid . Your work will span research, design and development of algorithms for motion planning and control. You shall develop scalable software architectures for deploying Humanoid/Semi-humanoid robots in the real world with focus on reliability and speed. You will be joining a fast-paced startup where your contributions will directly shape the product and the future of robotic manipulation —expect challenges, learning, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop motion planning and control algorithms for dual arm dexterous robots.
- Develop and maintain scalable software that can be deployed in real world.
- Optimize software for real-time performance.
- Test and verify algorithms and software on physical robots and simulations.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in complex, cross-domain systems.
- Engage in wide range of tasks across the robotics-system ranging from conducting research, testing & benchmarking algorithms, developing software, hardware system
- Stay up-to-date with the recent advancements in the fields of Robotics and be able to translate them to software for testing and prototyping.

Requirements
- Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Computer science/ Electrical/Electronics/Communications/Instrumentation Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in developing software for robots (Experience working on manipulators is a plus).
- Excellent C++ and Python programming skills. Real world experience writing multi-threaded applications is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS 2 and frameworks such as Moveit, Nav2 etc.
- Hands-on experience with planning frameworks like OMPL.
- Hands-on experience with sensors like Depth Cameras, Lidars etc.
- Strong fundamentals in Robotic Manipulation (Kinematics, Jacobians, Dynamics, Trajectory Generation etc.), AMR (Mapping, Localization, Navigation etc.) and Strong foundational understanding of mathematical concepts including matrix operations, transforms, coordinate frames etc.
- Strong fundamentals in physics, with a well-developed intuitive understanding of core principles.
