Job summary

Perceptyne is developing Industrial Humanoid Robots to automate dexterous tasks in automotive and electronics sectors. You will contribute to the software stack spanning research, design and development of motion planning and control.

Your work will focus on reliable, scalable software for real-world deployment on humanoid and semi-humanoid platforms. You will work in a fast-paced startup with opportunities to translate recent robotics advances into tangible prototypes, with emphasis on testing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Communications/ Instrumentation Engineering.
  • 3+ years of software development experience for robots.
  • Excellent C++ and Python programming skills, including multi-threaded applications.
  • Hands-on ROS/ROS 2 experience and MoveIt, Nav2, OMPL.
  • Experience with depth cameras and LiDAR sensors.
  • Strong robotics manipulation, kinematics, dynamics, and trajectory concepts.
  • Familiar with real-world deployment and testing on robots.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement motion planning and control algorithms for dual-arm robots.

Work Description

As a Robotics Research Engineer, you will be involved in building the software stack for Perceptyne’s Humanoid / Semi-Humanoid . Your work will span research, design and development of algorithms for motion planning and control. You shall develop scalable software architectures for deploying Humanoid/Semi-humanoid robots in the real world with focus on reliability and speed. You will be joining a fast-paced startup where your contributions will directly shape the product and the future of robotic manipulation —expect challenges, learning, and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop motion planning and control algorithms for dual arm dexterous robots.
  • Develop and maintain scalable software that can be deployed in real world.
  • Optimize software for real-time performance.
  • Test and verify algorithms and software on physical robots and simulations.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in complex, cross-domain systems.
  • Engage in wide range of tasks across the robotics-system ranging from conducting research, testing & benchmarking algorithms, developing software, hardware system
  • Stay up-to-date with the recent advancements in the fields of Robotics and be able to translate them to software for testing and prototyping.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Computer science/ Electrical/Electronics/Communications/Instrumentation Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing software for robots (Experience working on manipulators is a plus).
  • Excellent C++ and Python programming skills. Real world experience writing multi-threaded applications is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS 2 and frameworks such as Moveit, Nav2 etc.
  • Hands-on experience with planning frameworks like OMPL.
  • Hands-on experience with sensors like Depth Cameras, Lidars etc.
  • Strong fundamentals in Robotic Manipulation (Kinematics, Jacobians, Dynamics, Trajectory Generation etc.), AMR (Mapping, Localization, Navigation etc.) and Strong foundational understanding of mathematical concepts including matrix operations, transforms, coordinate frames etc.
  • Strong fundamentals in physics, with a well-developed intuitive understanding of core principles.
