Job summary

Catedgeai is building a cross-border tele-robotics platform in Boduppal, Hyderabad. We seek a Senior/Lead Robotics Engineer to own system architecture linking hardware actuation, edge computing, and ROS 2 middleware across international nodes.

You will mentor engineering interns, oversee prototype assembly, and drive enterprise-grade stability and security from benchtop to product.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in robotics, embedded systems, or IoT product development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and C++ in ROS 2-based environments.
• Experience with Linux/Ubuntu, hardware communication protocols, and edge compute.
• Familiarity with secure low-latency networking (WebRTC/WebSockets) and Zenoh.
• Ability to mentor interns and lead architectural design.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Leadership: design and scale software/hardware architecture for multi-DOF robots with ROS 2 and edge compute.
• Team Mentorship: guide engineers and interns in embedded Python, CAD, and cloud streaming.
• Networking & Security: oversee secure data transmission, WebRTC streaming, and TLS over cloud routers.
• Hardware-Software Integration: optimize kinematics, sensors, and actuators for smooth movement.

  • Networking Knowledge: Experience with distributed networks, WebSockets, WebRTC (aiortc), or Zenoh middleware.

  • Prototyping Mindset: Ability to bridge theoretical architecture with rapid physical prototypi

We are spearheading an advanced cross-border tele-robotics and embodied telepresence project. We are seeking a seasoned Senior or Lead Robotics Engineer to take technical ownership of our system architecture—bridging hardware actuation, edge computing, ROS 2 middleware, and secure low-latency networking across international nodes.

You will mentor our team of engineering interns, oversee prototype assembly, and ensure enterprise-grade stability and security from benchtop prototype to commercial product.

Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Leadership: Design and scale the software and hardware architecture for our multi-DOF robotic units, integrating ROS 2 (rmw_zenoh), edge compute modules (Raspberry Pi 5 / NVIDIA Jetson), and servo drivers.

Team Mentorship: Guide, review, and unblock engineering interns working on embedded Python scripting, CAD mechanical design, and cloud streaming.

Networking & Security: Oversee secure peer-to-peer data transmission, WebRTC video/audio streaming, and TLS encryption over cloud routers.

Hardware-Software Integration: Optimize kinematics, sensor feedback loops (capacitive touch, IMUs, cameras), and actuator responses for smooth, natural movement and zero lag.
