RF Performance Engineer - India Remote - Contract

Our client is seeking an experienced 5G/LTE RAN Optimization Engineer for a remote contract opportunity based in India. The role focuses on RAN, 4G LTE, 5G NR, ENDC, RF optimization, KPI performance management, and network integration/optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise with ENM and command-line tools, along with experience optimizing newly integrated LTE/5G layers such as L2100, NR2500, NR600, and NR41.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced RAN professional to work remotely on large-scale 4G/5G network performance and optimization projects. The engineer will be involved in post-integration validation, ENDC optimization, KPI improvement, Layer 3 analysis, coverage validation, and troubleshooting complex RAN performance issues. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical troubleshooting and wants to work with advanced multi-layer LTE/5G optimization environments while collaborating with distributed engineering teams.

Contract Duration: 12-24 Months

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with RAN command-line tools.
• Strong experience with 4G LTE and 5G NR RAN performance and optimization.
• Experience with ENDC (E-UTRA NR Dual Connectivity) configuration, validation, and optimization.
• Experience performing post-integration checks for new cells, carriers, and network layers.
• Hands-on experience with NR600, NR2500, L2100, and NR41 layers.
• Strong understanding of LTE/5G KPIs, performance monitoring, trending, analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting.
• Experience optimizing LTE/VoLTE KPIs after new-layer or carrier integration.
• Knowledge of LMS and baseline parameter management.
• Experience with RF optimization and Layer 3 analysis.
• Strong troubleshooting experience with:
  • Handover issues
  • Throughput degradation
  • Drop calls
  • RACH/accessibility failures
  • Coverage issues
  • Mobility problems
  • VoLTE performance issues
• Experience reviewing daily KPI reports and identifying sites/cells with performance degradation.
• Strong knowledge of network performance management and optimization methodologies.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with multi-layer cluster optimization across LTE and 5G NR.
• Experience with Anchor/NSA optimization projects.
• Experience with L600 projects and low-band 5G deployments.
• Experience generating and analyzing True Call/drive-test plots to validate coverage changes.
• Knowledge of NR600 coverage and capacity optimization.
• Experience with LMS parameter alignment and baseline parameter validation.
• Strong knowledge of LTE/5G mobility and inter-RAT optimization.
• Experience troubleshooting 5G ENDC accessibility, retainability, mobility, and throughput KPIs.
• Experience with large-scale KPI datasets and performance dashboards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote/distributed engineering environment.
• Experience collaborating with RF, performance, integration, and field teams.
