We are seeking a highly skilled Senior 5G Network Level Test Engineer who can seamlessly bridge 3GPP standardization theory with real-world network implementation. This role demands strong expertise in E2E system testing, RAN protocols, and AI-driven automation. You will validate 5G Small Cell systems against 3GPP Rel-15/16/17 specifications, debug complex call flows, and ensure robust performance across gNB, UE, and Core Network interfaces.
- Experience: 6 to 12 Years
- Job Type: Full Time Employment
What You'll Do:
- Validate 5G RAN Systems End-to-End:
- Execute standards-driven E2E test plans on real gNB, Small Cell, and Femto Gateway hardware, ensuring full compliance with 3GPP Rel‑15/16/17 specifications and IETF RFCs.
- Analyze & Debug Protocol Layers:
- Investigate L2/L3 signaling using Wireshark, QXDM, QCAT, and XCAL/XCAP; perform ASN.1 decoding to identify deviations, failures, and bottlenecks in call flows, mobility, security, and throughput.
- Own Root Cause Analysis:
- Perform deep‑dive debugging for issues such as NG/S1 setup failures, RLC/MAC throughput degradation, handover failures, EPS Fallback issues, VoNR call drops, and SeGW tunnel establishment problems.
- Validate advanced 5G features including ENDC (NSA), SA Option‑2, CBRS (SAS/DP interactions), VoNR, Mobility Events (A3/A4/A5), and PTP (1588v2) synchronization.
- Develop Test Automation:
- Build and enhance automation using Python, Robot Framework, Pandas-based log analysis, and Scapy for packet manipulation. Reduce manual effort through reusable frameworks and automation workflows.
- Utilize AI Tools for Engineering Efficiency:
- Leverage LLMs to parse large PCAPs, extract IE values, generate regex for log mining, and summarize complex issues from regression cycles.
- Manage End-to-End Lab Setup:
- Configure and maintain cOAM, certificate management for Security Gateway (SeGW), and Core Network simulators (EPC/5GC). Ensure stable, scalable testbed operations.
- Collaborate with Cross‑Functional Teams:
- Work with development, QA, system architects, and deployment teams to drive feature readiness, interoperability, and release quality.
Expertise You'll Bring:
- Deep 3GPP Protocol Knowledge:
- Mastery of 3GPP Rel‑15/16/17 specs including RRC (TS 38.331), NGAP (38.413), XnAP (38.423), and NAS (24.501), along with hands‑on debugging using these standards.
- Advanced RAN & Call Flow Expertise:
- Proven experience with ENDC/SA call processing, Mobility Events (A3/A4/A5), handover algorithms, VoNR, EPS Fallback, CBRS/Domain Proxy interactions, and PTP 1588v2 synchronization.
- Ability to dissect logs across L2/L3, decode ASN.1, and resolve issues involving throughput degradation, signaling failures, and IPsec/SCTP transport challenges.
- Solid experience with Python, Robot Framework, Pandas-based log analysis, Scapy, and Shell scripting to automate protocol-level testing and eliminate manual effort.
- Comfortable using AI/LLMs to analyze PCAPs, generate regex patterns, summarize failures, and build smarter debugging workflows.
- Network Element & Lab Setup Knowledge:
- Experience configuring gNBs, Femto Gateways, SeGW (certificates/IPsec), cOAM systems, and EPC/5GC simulators with full ownership of lab environments.
- Tools Expertise:
- Hands‑on experience with Wireshark (advanced filters/Lua), QXDM, QCAT, XCAP/XCAL, and other protocol trace tools.
- Ability to start from 3GPP documentation, challenge assumptions, and drive feature validation with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- Culture focused on talent development with quarterly growth opportunities and company-sponsored higher education and certifications
- Opportunity to work with cutting‑edge technologies
- Employee engagement initiatives such as project parties, flexible work hours, and Long Service awards
- Insurance coverage: group term life, personal accident, and Mediclaim hospitalization for self, spouse, two children, and parents
Values‑Driven, People‑Centric & Inclusive Work Environment:
- We support hybrid work and flexible hours to fit diverse lifestyles.
- Our office is accessibility‑friendly, with ergonomic setups and assistive technologies to support employees with physical disabilities.
- If you are a person with disabilities and have specific requirements, please inform us during the application process or at any time during your employment
