The Retail Sales Associate Trainer will be responsible for delivering high-quality classroom and practical training aligned with the approved curriculum and industry standards. The role focuses on developing learners' technical knowledge, customer service skills, sales techniques, and workplace readiness to enhance their employability in the organized retail sector. The trainer will also support assessments, certification, learner engagement, and placement readiness while ensuring quality training outcomes.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Training Delivery & Classroom Management
- Deliver theory and practical sessions as per the approved curriculum, session plans, and training schedule.
- Create an engaging and interactive learning environment using learner-centric training methodologies.
- Ensure effective classroom management, discipline, and active learner participation.
B. Technical Training & Skill Development
- Train learners on retail operations, customer service, sales techniques, product knowledge, visual merchandising, billing and POS systems, inventory management, store operations, and workplace safety.
- Integrate practical demonstrations, role plays, case studies, and simulations to strengthen industry readiness.
- Conduct revision sessions and provide additional support to learners requiring improvement.
C. Assessments & Learner Progress
- Conduct periodic assessments, assignments, and practical evaluations to monitor learner progress.
- Maintain learner attendance, assessment records, and training documentation.
- Prepare learners for Sector Skill Council assessments and certification.
D. Placement Readiness & Industry Engagement
- Support learners in developing employability skills, workplace behaviour, customer handling, and interview readiness.
- Coordinate with the Placement Officer for industry interactions, guest lectures, mock interviews, and placement activities.
- Provide feedback on learner performance to support successful placements.
E. Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain accurate training records, lesson plans, attendance, and assessment reports.
- Submit timely progress reports and MIS as required.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, project guidelines, and quality standards.
3. Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline. Relevant certification or experience in Retail Sales, Retail Operations, or Skill Development will be preferred.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in retail operations, retail training, or skill development programs.
- Experience in NSDC/SSC-aligned training or CSR-funded skilling projects will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of retail operations and customer service.
- Excellent classroom facilitation and presentation skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate diverse learner groups.
- Proficiency in MS Office and digital learning tools.
- Strong documentation, assessment, and reporting skills.
