Job summary

Quest Global is seeking a Retail Technology Domain Expert to drive end-to-end telemetry for POS devices, bridging business needs with product, architecture, cloud, analytics, and portal teams. The role requires deep knowledge of retail operations and data flows from devices to enterprise analytics.

The ideal candidate will define telemetry, collaborate across engineering and QA, and ensure actionable insights reach the enterprise data lake and administrator portal.

Qualifications

• 18+ years in retail, POS, store technology, or retail software.
• Strong understanding of retail/store operations.
• Experience with endpoint agents, cloud services, analytics, reporting, or enterprise portals.
• Functional understanding of architecture, APIs, integrations, data flows, and system workflows.
• Experience working with Product, Architecture, Engineering, Cloud, Analytics, and QA teams.
• Strong requirements analysis, documentation, and Agile experience.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end POS telemetry data product delivery, transforming real-time device signals into actionable retail intelligence.
• Define what telemetry should be collected from POS devices, e.g., device health, connectivity, transactions, performance, errors, latency, lifecycle events.
• Translate business requirements into inputs and partner with engineering for architecture, engineering, analytics, and QA.
• Understand retail processes, operational needs, and customer expectations.
• Develop functional understanding of the endpoint agent, including configuration, lifecycle, monitoring, and cloud communication.
• Trace information flow across agent → cloud → analytics/reporting → administrator portal.
• Understand administrator workflows for device monitoring, policies, alerts, and operational activities.
• Identify gaps, dependencies, ambiguities, and inconsistencies across the solution.
• Define user stories, workflows, business rules, acceptance criteria, and scenarios.
• Assess changes for impact on operations, integrations, reporting, security, support, and UX.
• Support backlog refinement, design reviews, UAT, release planning, and readiness.
• Act as the bridge between product and technical stakeholders.

Role Overview

Retail Technology Domain Expert supporting a retainer engagement, bridging retail business needs, product, architecture, engineering, cloud, analytics, and portal teams. The role requires end-to-end understanding of the endpoint agent, cloud data flow, analytics, reporting, and administrator portal.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end POS telemetry data product delivery, transforming real-time device signals into actionable retail intelligence—from devices and microservices to the enterprise data lake and AI-driven insights.
• Define what telemetry should be collected from POS devices, Ex. device health, connectivity, transactions, application performance, errors, latency, and lifecycle events.
• Translate business requirements into clear inputs and partner with engineering teams for architecture, engineering, analytics, and QA.

Work Experience

Required Qualifications
