Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation QA Analyst to design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for our Retail POS application. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including QA, product management, and development, to ensure high-quality releases of the POS software. You will be responsible for building test Automation frameworks from scratch and providing automation solutions for various projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks specifically tailored for POS systems.
2. Advocate for best practices in test automation and quality assurance, and contribute to process improvements to streamline testing cycles and increase coverage.
3. Provide expertise in the retail domain, focusing on testing e-commerce platforms, inventory management systems, POS systems, order processing, payment gateways, and other retail-specific applications.
4. Collaborate with the development and QA teams to understand application functionality and identify areas for automation.
5. Mentor junior QA team members, provide guidance on best practices in test automation, and help develop the skill set of the broader QA team.
6. Lead test strategy discussions and contribute to overall QA roadmaps.
7. Write and execute test cases to verify POS software performance, security, usability, and reliability.
8. Work with CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated testing into the development process.
9. Analyze test results, identify defects, and ensure they are logged, tracked, and resolved.
10. Perform functional, regression, load, and performance testing of the POS application.
11. Ensure test coverage is comprehensive and adheres to best practices.
12. Develop and maintain testing frameworks and tools to improve the automation process.
13. Troubleshoot and debug issues reported in automated test executions.
14. Stay up to date with the latest testing tools, trends, and best practices.
15. Create detailed test documentation, including plans, reports, and logs.
16. Ensure testing is performed in accordance with retail standards and regulations.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Technical Skills:

1. Proven experience in creating automated testing frameworks with a strong focus on retail POS systems.
2. Expertise in automation tools such as UFT One, SaaS ALM, Selenium, Appium, Cypress or similar.
3. Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript for test automation development.
4. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or similar.
5. Strong knowledge of test frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, or RSpec.
6. Understanding of REST APIs, Web Services, and experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
7. Familiarity with database testing (SQL queries, data validation, etc.) and working with relational databases.
8. Experience in testing cloud-based applications, preferably with AWS or Azure.
9. Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

Experience:

1. 5 years of experience in automation development, with a focus on retail applications or POS systems.
2. 2+ years of experience specifically in the retail or e-commerce domain.
3. Solid understanding of POS systems architecture, transactions, inventory management, payment processing, etc.
4. Experience working in an Agile or DevOps environment.
5. Proven track record of test automation within a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.

Soft Skills:

1. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
2. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
3. Deep understanding of retail business processes, including e-commerce platforms, POS systems, order management, inventory systems, and payment processing.

2. Experience in testing Desktop, Mobile POS applications.
3. Knowledge of UX/UI principles related to POS systems.
4. Experience with performance testing tools for assessing POS application scalability.
5. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
