Job summary

SYSTRA India is seeking a Resident Engineer - S&T for the Kavach project in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The role oversees implementation, testing, and commissioning of Train Collision Avoidance System equipment, ensuring alignment with railway safety standards and project timelines.

You will coordinate with field teams, contractors, and railway officials, providing on-site technical guidance and ensuring seamless integration with signaling and telecom systems.

Qualifications

• Railway signaling & telecom knowledge, interlocking, automatic block signalling, axle counters.
• KAVACH system familiarity and TCAS implementation knowledge.
• End-to-end system integration with signaling, telecom, and software teams.
• Strong on-site troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Kavach implementation on railway networks.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and project timelines.
• Coordinate with field teams, contractors, and railway officials for smooth execution.
• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of Kavach equipment.
• Ensure Kavach integration with signaling and telecom systems.
• Conduct site inspections to verify system performance.
• Provide on-site technical support for hardware/software issues.
• Diagnose and resolve system failures or malfunctions.
• Liaise with railway authorities, project managers, and signaling engineers.
• Communicate progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Document technical reports and maintain project records.
• Train field staff on Kavach operations and safety protocols.

Missions/Main Duties

Profile/Skills

• Graduate Degree in Civil /Electrical/ Electronics and Communication with minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction industry/ Railway Signalling or Diploma in Civil/ Electrical/Electronics Engineering with minimum of 15 years’ experience in construction industry or Railway Signalling.
• Railway Signaling & Telecommunications Knowledge – Understanding of interlocking, automatic block signalling, and axle counters.
• KAVACH System Expertise – Familiarity with TCAS (Train Collision Avoidance System) and its implementation.
• System Integration & Testing – Ability to work with signaling, telecom, and software teams for end-to-end integration.
• Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving – Quick response to system failures and on-site technical issues.
