Job summary

Aker Solutions is seeking a Project Head for site construction to drive quality, safety, and timely execution at Mumbai-based sites. You will oversee modularization, brownfield works, and multi-discipline activities across civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation scopes.

The role requires strong on-site leadership, HSE compliance, and coordination with clients and contractors to deliver aligned to the project plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; professional registration is a plus.
• Extensive site leadership experience on large construction projects.
• Experience with safety, quality, and HSE compliance on-site.
• Strong understanding of civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all site construction activities to meet quality, safety, and schedule targets.
• Set up and maintain site facilities and office for construction phase.
• Ensure implementation of project HSE requirements with safety staff.
• Coordinate with contractors for micro planning, progress reviews, and issue resolution.
• Manage documentation, drawings, and site deliverables; approve deviations and changes.
• Prepare and present weekly progress reports and site closure documentation.

What will you be doing?

• Manage all construction site activities of the project ensuring Quality, Safety and to review & monitor the construction progress w.r.t the project schedule.
• Set-up site facilities including site office that required for the construction phase of the project.
• Implement all Safety practices as per the Project HSE requirements with the assistance of safety staff.
• Adequate experience in constructability reviews, good understanding & experience in review & approval heavy lifts & erection scheme.
• Manage all technical and administration matters relating to site.
• Organize transport and accommodation for staff to attend duties.
• Allocate laydown areas for contractors after interacting with clients.
• Obtain & review micro planning of construction activities at site with contractors.
• Conduct progress review meetings with contractors along with clients.
• Prepare action/recovery plan to meet the targets.
• Interact with Project Manager and resolve issues related to drawings, material receipt and other technical issues.
• Oversees Free-Issue Material Store functions.
• Ensure proper documentation system to receive, issue and use of latest applicable drawings and documents by site engineers and contractors at site.
• To implement Quality Management System at site, review and approve all discipline QAP & ITPs.
• Conduct HSE and QC audits at site.
• Obtain approval from HO for all deviations and changes before implementing changes in AFC drawings and documents.
• Authorization of contractor’s bills certified by concerned Discipline Engineer.
• Interact with client’s representative at site.
• Review, recommend and forward extra claims to HO Construction.
• Verify and compile the weekly progress reports prepared by discipline engineers.
• Interact with H.O. Construction for any construction problem with respect to manpower, progress, quality, safety, or technical issue.
• To report all type of incidences to HO and Client as per the guidelines issued from H.O.
• Interact with H.O. for site management, administration issues and site facility requirements.
• To expedite with Project Manager for release of construction drawings as per agreed schedule.
• Internal Review meeting with site engineers (daily/weekly).
• Report Lesson Learnt
• To prepare “Site Technical Query” and furnish the same as per the format provided.
• Provide as-built documents for all engineering disciplines to projects.
• Handing over the Final Bills, Material Reconciliation and other site documents to client.
• Prepare Site Closure Report (duly compiled with all other closure reports of the site engineers and staffs).

• Should be working or worked as Project head at site
• Mechanical Engineer with Modularization experience
• Brown field works experience
• Should be well versed with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumenation works
