Job summary

Aker Solutions in Mumbai seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead LV/MV power distribution design, prepare comprehensive technical deliverables, and review system architecture. You will coordinate with process, mechanical, instrumentation, civil, and piping teams to ensure integrated, safe electrical solutions.

Responsibilities include design reviews, bid evaluations, and support during installation, testing and start-up, ensuring on-time delivery within budget while complying with IEC,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 6-15 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in EPC, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Power, Renewable Energy, Chemical, Water Treatment, or Industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and power systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical system design and engineering for LV/MV power distribution systems.
• Prepare and review Engineering Deliverables including SLDs, Equipment Specifications, Cable Schedules and Calculations.
• Review electrical system architecture and equipment selection; coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil, Structural, and Piping disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, constructability reviews, and client meetings; support procurement and construction phases.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, IS standards and local requirements; assist in safety reviews and risk assessments.

What will you be doing?

• Perform electrical system design and engineering for LV/MV power distribution systems.
• Prepare and review: Desin Basis, Philosophies, Load Lists, Power System Studies, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Electrical Equipment Specifications, Cable Schedules and Cable Sizing Calculations, Lighting Design Calculations, Earthing and Lightning Protection Designs, Technical Datasheets and Requisitions.
• Review electrical system architecture and equipment selection.
• Technical Coordination with Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil, Structural, and Piping disciplines.
• Participate in model reviews, HAZOP, constructability reviews, and client meetings.
• Review offers, technical bid evaluations and vendor drawings/documents. Resolve technical queries during engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
• Support project planning and engineering schedules. Monitor progress of electrical engineering activities. Provide technical assistance during installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up activities. Ensure project deliverables are completed within schedule and budget requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, IS and applicable local statutory requirement. Maintain quality assurance and engineering best practices. Support design safety reviews and risk assessments.

We Think You Should Have

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

6-15 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering. Experience in EPC, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Power, Renewable Energy, Chemical, Water Treatment, or Industrial projects.

Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and power systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Ability to work independently and lead technical discussions.
