Aker Solutions is seeking an Application Portfolio Manager to own the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise applications, including SaaS and custom solutions. You will balance business partnership, technology strategy, and operational excellence while driving AI-led transformation and cost optimization.

Based in Mumbai or Pune, this senior role requires 12–15+ years of service-based multinational experience and leadership of cross-functional teams in a dynamic global environment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lifecycle of a portfolio of enterprise applications, including SaaS products and custom-developed solutions.
• Define and maintain application strategy aligned to business objectives.
• Create and manage roadmaps, modernization plans, and technology evolution initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and rationalization.
• Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technology initiatives.
• Ensure stable and reliable application operations and deliver service levels.
• Drive AI and automation initiatives and lead transformation programs across the portfolio.
• Oversee vendor relationships, licensing, contracts, and service delivery commitments.

What will you be doing?

The Application Portfolio Manager owns the end-to-end lifecycle of a portfolio of enterprise applications, including SaaS products and custom-developed solutions. The role balances business partnership, technology strategy, operational excellence, vendor management, financial governance, and team leadership while driving transformation and innovation through AI and emerging technologies.

Key Areas of Accountability

• Define and maintain application strategy aligned to business objectives.
• Create and manage application roadmaps, modernization plans, and technology evolution initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and rationalization.

2. Business Relationship Management

• Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and priorities.
• Gather enhancement requests and performance feedback.
• Translate business needs into actionable technology initiatives.

3. Operational Excellence

• Ensure stable and reliable application operations.
• Deliver agreed service levels, operational KPIs, and performance targets.
• Monitor application health and drive corrective actions when required.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI and advanced technologies.
• Drive automation, efficiency improvements, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Lead transformation programs across the application portfolio.
• Manage relationships with software vendors and service providers.
• Oversee licensing, support contracts, and service delivery commitments.
• Participate in contract negotiations and commercial discussions.

6. Financial & Budget Management

• Plan and manage application budgets and operational costs.
• Track expenditures and ensure governance compliance.
• Deliver cost-efficiency improvements while maintaining service quality.
• Lead internal teams and external partners.
• Ensure adequate resource capacity and capability.
• Develop high-performing teams focused on delivery excellence.

8. Delivery Governance

• Monitor delivery performance across projects and operational activities.
• Drive risk management, issue resolution, and continuous service improvement.
• Ensure successful execution of agreed priorities and commitments.
