Job summary

Aker Solutions in India is seeking a senior Construction Quality professional to drive site quality management and ensure adherence to project procedures. The role requires hands-on leadership across QA/QC activities and strong decision-making in a multidisciplinary environment.

You will implement QA/QC plans, review ITPs/QAPs, conduct site audits, and coordinate with engineers to close non-conformances. Remote work up to two days weekly is available and a competitive package is offered.

Qualifications

• Lead quality assurance and control activities on site.
• Develop and maintain quality plans and QA/QC systems.
• Review and approve ITP/QAP and related formats.
• Coordinate with disciplines to ensure compliance with codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Construction Quality Management System at site.
• Responsible for all Quality related issues.
• Develop Quality plans that comply with project procedures.
• Establish QAP/ITP for each discipline and review/approve ITP/QAP.
• Review QA/QC formats and ensure stagewise control measures are implemented.
• To review required QA/QC formats and issue to Contractor for implementation.
• Establish WPS, PQR and review/Witness PQR/WPS for all variables.
• Witness welder qualification tests as per WPS.
• Audit and inspect project sites to maintain quality standards.
• Report deviations/non-conformances to RCM and drive corrective actions.
• Organize weekly quality review meetings and circulate minutes.

What will you be doing?

• Implement the Construction Quality Management System at site.
• Responsible for all Quality related issues
• Develop Quality plans that comply with project procedures.
• Establish QAP/ITP for each discipline/ / Review and approve ITP/QAP.
• Review the formats mentioned in the ITP and make sure that all stagewise control measures are taken care off.
• To review the required QA/QC formats for the job specified and issue to the Contractor for implementation.
• Establish WPS, PQR
• Review/Witness PQR/WPS & make sure that all required variables, materials & thickness ranges of projects are covered.
• Witness welder qualification test as per approved WPS.
• Manage and ensure that system and controls of the Quality Management System are working efficiently and effectively.
• To review the required QA/QC formats for the job specified and issue to the Contractor for implementation.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections at project sites to review and maintain quality standards and requirements.
• Be the vital link between RCM on all Quality issues and play the role of auditor in all quality related site audits.
• Report deviations and non-conformances to RCM and supervise the progress of resulting corrective actions to be taken.
• Organize weekly quality review meeting, prepare minutes of the meeting and circulate to all concerns.
• Compilation of system wise /testing loop wise handing over protocol for piping, electrical and instrumentation discipline.
• Compilation of building wise/equipment wise handing over protocol with help of Discipline Engineers.
• Monitoring and control of documents issued to contractors.
• Prepare site observations and communicated to contractor and make sure that observations are closed at the earliest.
• Issue NCR if needed and close follow up to close the NCR.

We Think You Should Have

• BE Mechanical with 20 years of experience
• Should be technically sound in his own discipline, have an overall understanding of the requirements and sequence of activities and interfaces of all disciplines.
• Should have a Practical/ field experience of supervising construction activities and possesses competency to take appropriate decisions consulting the concerned.
• Shall take ownership in driving the requirements of quality at site.
• Should have sound knowledge of Engineering, latest construction practices that are followed at industrial construction sites, practical / field experience of supervising construction activities good knowledge of the applicable codes, standards, field testing practices, updated knowledge of acceptable test results and Statutory requirements.
• Basic knowledge of interdisciplinary construction activities related to other disciplines site works.
