Job summary

Aker Solutions ASA in Mumbai seeks a Lead Engineer for piping projects to drive technical execution on medium to large programs, ensuring scope, schedule, cost and quality alignment. You will review design bases, prepare plot plans and layouts, and participate in reviews with clients, licensors and PMC while mentoring engineers and coordinating with stress, layout, and 3D teams.

• 15+ years of experience in piping/mechanical engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Plan, monitor, and control piping engineering activities to meet project scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
• Review engineering packages, contract requirements, client standards, and licensor specifications; establish design basis and piping work instructions.
• Develop and review plot plans, equipment layouts, and process-critical piping studies; monitor deliverables and man-hour estimates.
• Lead model reviews with Client, PMC and other stakeholders; coordinate with stress, support, material, layout, and 3D design teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and designers within the piping team; participate in safety reviews and tender man-hour estimation.

What will you be doing?

Execute projects as a Lead Engineer for medium size complex Project or as an Area Engineer for Large size project Plan, monitor, and control piping engineering activities to meet project scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectivesReview basic engineering packages, contract requirements, client standards, and licensor specifications and establish project design basis and piping work instructionsPrepare and monitor project deliverable list, resource plans, and man-hour estimatesReview critical piping engineering documents such as piping material specifications, Layout design basis, stress design basis, MTOs etc.Develop and review plot plans, equipment layouts, and process-critical piping studiesConduct reviews with Client, licensor and PMC for Plot plan and Equipment layouts.Lead model reviews with Client, PMC and other stakeholdersCoordinate closely with stress, support, material, layout, and 3D design teams for efficient project executionEnsure effective management of piping interfaces with all engineering disciplines and external agenciesSupport and participate in HSE, HSSE, constructability, and design safety reviews.Monitor and guide third-party engineering contractors, where applicablePerform the man-hour estimation activities for tender projectsAdequate awareness of applicable codes and standards including ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, OISD etc.Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers and designers within the piping team

We think you should have:

Experience Level Required - 15+ years

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/chemical engineering as a minimum
