Job summary

Schneider Electric in Gurugram, India, is seeking a Renewable Energy Procurement Specialist to drive open access and other procurement solutions for commercial and industrial customers.

Based in Gurugram, you will develop procurement strategies, manage stakeholder relationships, and negotiate PPAs, ESAs, and storage-enabled projects to optimize energy costs and grid reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience developing procurement strategies for renewable energy for C&I customers.
• Knowledge of Group Captive, open access, and energy settlement mechanisms.
• Experience negotiating PPAs, ESAs, and shareholding agreements for off-takers.
• Strong understanding of regulatory provisions across Indian states.
• Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems integration with renewables.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Renewable Energy Procurement Specialist to drive our renewable energy supply solutions for commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers through open access arrangements. Based in Gurugram, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing procurement strategies, managing key stakeholder relationships, and ensuring cost-effective and sustainable energy solutions for our clients. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of renewable energy adoption in India and work with a dynamic team.

What We're Looking For:

• Expertise in developing and executing procurement strategies for renewable energy solutions for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) consumers.
• A solid understanding of Group Captive transactions, banking and energy settlement mechanisms, as well as inter and intra-state open access transactions.
• Experience in managing supplier relationships and negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Energy Supply Agreements (ESAs), and Shareholding Agreements on behalf of the offtaker.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory provisions for procuring renewable energy across various states in India.
• Understanding of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including system design considerations, sizing methodologies, technology evaluation, techno-commercial assessment, and integration with renewable energy projects (solar, wind, and hybrid solutions) to optimize energy costs, reliability, and grid compliance.
• Experience in evaluating renewable energy plus storage opportunities, including economic feasibility, dispatch strategies, peak demand management, and ancillary service applications.
• Familiarity with Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) and International Renewable Energy Certificates (iRECs).
• Strong analytical skills to assess electricity markets, regulatory developments, and commercial opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling for developing complex energy procurement, tariff, and project evaluation models.
• Ability to engage with developers, DISCOMs, regulators, and other stakeholders to structure innovative renewable energy and storage procurement solutions.
