Job summary

Cleangrid Energy is hiring a Manager – Regulatory & Business Development for the Gurgaon area. This senior role focuses on regulatory insights, policy tracking, and strategic development in renewable energy for C&I and Open Access projects.

The candidate will engage with off-takers, prepare financial models, and support investor communications. 5–10 years in renewable energy or power sector is preferred, with MBA as a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 5–10 years of experience in renewable energy, power sector, or C&I business development.
• Strong understanding of state policies, open access regulations, and power market dynamics.
• Experience in client interaction, investor discussions, and proposal preparation.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory & policy understanding: Develop knowledge of state-wise policies and regulations related to renewable energy, open access, and C&I models; track policy changes and assess impact on projects.
• Business development & client engagement: Engage with C&I off-takers to understand energy needs; propose renewable solutions and build client relationships.
• Investor & client data management: Prepare project data, financial models, and regulatory insights; assist in teasers, presentations, and reports.
• Strategic planning: Contribute to future project planning and expansion across multiple states; identify opportunities in C&I and open access markets.

Job Title: Manager – Regulatory & Business Development Location: Gurgaon Experience : 5-10 years About the Role Cleangrid Energy is seeking a dynamic and driven professional for the role of Manager – Regulatory & Business Development to support the growth of our renewable energy portfolio, particularly in the C&I (Commercial & Industrial) segment. The role requires a strong understanding of state-level regulatory frameworks, client engagement, and strategic planning for future energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities 1. Regulatory & Policy Understanding Develop a strong understanding of state-wise policies and regulations related to renewable energy, open access, and C&I business models. Track and analyze policy changes across states and assess their impact on ongoing and upcoming projects. Support internal teams with regulatory insights for project development and execution.

Business Development & Client Engagement Engage with C&I off-takers to understand their energy consumption patterns and requirements. Propose customized renewable energy solutions including solar, wind, hybrid, and BESS-based offerings. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, and industry stakeholders.

Investor & Client Data Management Prepare and present project data, financial models, and regulatory insights tailored to investor/client requirements. Assist in preparing teasers, presentations, and reports for business development activities.

Strategic Planning Contribute to future project planning and expansion strategies across multiple states. Identify new opportunities in C&I and open access markets based on regulatory and demand trends. Support pipeline development for solar, wind, hybrid, and RTC projects.

Key Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Business, or related field (MBA preferred). 5–10 years of experience in renewable energy, power sector, or C&I business development. Strong understanding of state policies, open access regulations, and power market dynamics. Experience in client interaction, investor discussions, and proposal preparation. Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
