This role focuses on plant availability, generation performance, safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across multiple sites. The ideal candidate has 12+ years in utility-scale solar O&M, manages large portfolios, and coordinates with SLDC/GSS/DISCOMs.

Qualifications

Position: North Regional Manager – Solar O&M

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced North Regional Manager – Solar O&M to lead the end-to-end operations and maintenance of utility-scale solar assets across North India. The role will be responsible for ensuring plant availability, generation performance, safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience managing 500 MW+ utility-scale solar portfolios, leading multi-site O&M teams, and handling technical, regulatory, and stakeholder-related aspects of solar plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of utility-scale solar assets across the North region.
• Monitor plant performance through SCADA, DGR reporting, PR and CUF analysis and identify opportunities to improve generation and availability.
• Drive achievement of plant availability and generation targets across multiple sites.
• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities for central inverters and other critical plant equipment.
• Handle breakdown diagnostics, troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical technical issues.
• Manage AC/DC system breakdowns, including PSS, GSS, transformers, switchyards, HT/LT systems and protection equipment.
• Coordinate with SLDC, GSS and DISCOMs for JMR, energy accounting, billing and other grid-related processes.
• Ensure timely regulatory compliance, statutory filings and documentation.
• Liaise with government bodies, grid authorities and other external stakeholders as required.
• Lead and manage multi-site O&M teams, ensuring effective manpower deployment and operational discipline.
• Ensure adherence to HSE practices, electrical safety standards and audit requirements across all sites.
• Manage OEMs and vendors, including AMC contracts, service performance and technical support.
• Plan and monitor critical spares and inventory to minimise plant downtime.
• Use SCADA platforms, SAP/CMMS, MS Excel and performance analytics for operational monitoring, reporting and decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability, availability, safety and overall operational efficiency.

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 12 years of experience in utility-scale solar operations and maintenance.
• Proven experience managing a 500 MW+ solar portfolio.
• Strong understanding of SCADA, DGR, PR and CUF analysis.
• Hands-on experience with central inverter preventive maintenance, breakdown diagnostics and RCA.
• Strong technical knowledge of AC/DC systems, PSS, GSS, transformers, switchyards, HT/LT systems and protection equipment.
• Experience coordinating with SLDC/GSS/DISCOMs for JMR, energy accounting and billing.
• Experience handling regulatory compliance and statutory requirements.
• Proven experience leading multi-site O&M teams.
• Strong understanding of HSE, audit compliance and electrical safety standards.
• Experience in vendor/OEM management, AMC management and spare inventory planning.
• Working proficiency in SCADA platforms, SAP/CMMS and MS Excel.

Preferred Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and team-management capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple solar sites and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel across North India as per business and site requirements.
