Job summary

Confidential Jobs in Mumbai is seeking an experienced Head of Customs Operations to lead end-to-end customs brokerage for imports/exports, ensure timely clearance, and drive SLA adherence.

You will own the regional customs P&L, build a high-performance team, manage stakeholder relationships with authorities, freight forwarders, and customers, and ensure regulatory compliance and service quality.

Qualifications

• 8-15 years in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or logistics operations, with 3-5 years in a managerial capacity.
• Strong hands-on expertise in customs clearance, regulatory compliance, tariff classification, valuation, and related trade regulations.
• Experience in P&L management, team leadership, customer management, and operational performance improvement.
• Exposure to customs EDI systems and ERP platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end customs brokerage operations for import and export shipments, ensuring timely clearance, SLA adherence, and operational accuracy.
• Drive customs compliance across applicable regulations, including classification, valuation, documentation, audits, investigations, and statutory requirements.
• Own the regional customs P&L, covering revenue, profitability, cost control, billing, collections, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Lead and develop the customs operations team while managing productivity, performance, customer escalations, and service quality.
• Build strong relationships with customers, customs authorities, freight forwarders, transporters, and internal stakeholders to support service delivery and business growth.

Key Responsibilities / KRA

• Lead end-to-end customs brokerage operations for import and export shipments, ensuring timely clearance, SLA adherence, and operational accuracy.

• Strong analytical, financial, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with exposure to customs EDI systems and ERP platforms.
