Role Description

The Rebar Detailer is a full-time, on-site role based in Trivandrum, responsible for preparing accurate reinforcement bar (rebar) drawings and schedules for structural concrete elements. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting structural and architectural drawings, creating detailed rebar shop drawings and bar bending schedules, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and project specifications. The role involves coordinating with design engineers, project managers, and site teams to clarify requirements, resolve detailing issues, and support smooth execution at the construction site. The Rebar Detailer will also review and revise drawings based on design changes, maintain organized documentation, and contribute to quality control and timely delivery of project deliverables.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in rebar detailing using relevant CAD or BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, RebarCAD, Tekla Structures or equivalent) and strong understanding of structural drawings.
• Solid knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals, reinforced concrete design concepts, and applicable codes and standards (e.g., IS codes or other regional standards).
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and construction documents, and translate them into accurate shop drawings and bar bending schedules.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and quality-focused approach to checking and reviewing drawings and quantities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineers, project managers, and site personnel, including the ability to clarify technical queries.
• Good organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain systematic documentation.
• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; prior experience as a Rebar Detailer or in structural drafting is highly beneficial.
• Willingness to learn, adapt to project‑specific tools and standards, and contribute to a trust‑based, professional work environment.
