Job summary

ABB in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced engineer to lead R&D activities for the ELSB NEMA product line. You will drive design, testing, and analysis to shorten development cycles while ensuring high quality and compliance.

The role requires hands-on expertise with Ansys and CAD tools such as Creo and Pro/ENGINEER, plus knowledge of circuit breakers and panelboards and UL standards. This is a hybrid position supporting global projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in Electrical or Mechanical engineering; 5+ years hands-on design experience.
• Proficient in Ansys and CAD tools (Creo, Pro/ENGINEER).
• Experience with electrical panelboards and circuit breakers.
• Knowledge of UL standards for circuit breakers and panelboards.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D projects for ELSB NEMA product line from conception to certification.
• Apply design, testing, and analysis to improve products and reduce development cycle.
• Utilize simulation tools (Ansys) to optimize products.
• Ensure compliance with relevant UL standards and documentations.

Understanding of structural, thermal, electromagnetic, computational fluid dynamics will be an added advantage along with exposure to current interruption process.Demonstrates sound understanding of R&D processes and tools. Demonstrate ownership on compliance with applicable standards.Must have understanding of competitor product & IP landscaping and product application.Interface with other engineering departments, test laboratories, manufacturing, quality, sourcing and suppliers as required.Qualifications for the role:B. Tech/M. S/ M. Tech or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical engineering with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Electrical product design/development and Analysis.Proficient in Ansys and CAD Tools like Creo, Pro/ENGINEER etc.Experience with electrical panelboards and circuit breakers.
