Job summary

ABB Smart Power Hyderabad is hiring for a role that supports the sample preparation and execution of tests for Low voltage switchgear products. You will coordinate with Global R&D and manufacturing teams to ensure tests are conducted per plans and that results are well-documented.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years in LV switchgear testing.
• ISO 17025:2017 training and NABL lab experience.
• Knowledge of IEC & UL standards for LV switchgear.
• Experience conducting electrical testing on LV switch gears and control products.

Responsibilities

• Set up and execute routine tests for Low voltage switchgear products following standard plans.
• Document test results and generate test reports per applicable standards.
• Follow BIS testing process for QCO testing and develop jigs/fixtures for testing.
• Assist root cause analysis and corrective actions for testing failures.
• Coordinate with internal and external labs for developmental and certification testing.
• Maintain equipment and tools in the laboratory and follow HSSE norms.
• Maintain lab equipment and tools and ensure HSSE compliance.

You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring proper documentation of the test results.This role is contributing to the Electrification business Smart Power Division in Hyderabad, India.You will be mainly accountable for:In this role you will support the sample preparation and execution of tests for Low voltage switchgear products, according to test plans and standardized testing methodologies and requirements, in coordination with project teams from Global R&D and manufacturing plants.Support with test reports according to the applicable standard(s) for the tested product. Follow BIS testing process for completing QCO testing and design and develop jigs and fixtures required for testing.Support with root cause analysis and corrective actions for any failures observed during testing.Travel and Co-ordinate with internal and external lab for developmental and certification testing. Support the maintenance activities related to the equipment and tools used by the laboratory.Follow HSSE norms of PPE, LOTO, material storages and handling etc, raise alarm for risk, if any. Also, maintain housekeeping in lab area.Qualifications for the role:Minimum qualification Diploma in Electrical Engineering. with 2+ years of experience in design and testing of Low voltage switch Gear products, viz, circuit brakers, contactors.Completed ISO 17025: 2017 training and Experience working with NABL accredited lab.Good Knowledge of IEC & UL Standard and Regulatory requirements for Low voltage switchgear products.Experience in Conducting Electrical testing on Low voltage switch gears and control products.Good understanding of safety requirements while operating Electrical Device.
