Job summary

DMart is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our construction team. You will prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities, and ensure alignment with project drawings and IS codes.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors, maintain cost databases, and monitor progress to prevent overruns. A civil engineering or related degree and 5–10 years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in estimation, quantity surveying, and billing in real estate or high-rise construction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and overheads.
• Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and required resources.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to gather essential project information.
• Evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure cost efficiency.
• Maintain a database of cost information and unit prices for materials and labour.
• Prepare Bills of quantities of all Civil & Finishes works items including BBS.
• Check Final Bills inline with drawings, records, and IS codes.
• Visit sites PAN India to verify bills against measurements and work orders.
• Assist in project schedules and track progress to identify cost overruns.

Role & responsibilities

Estimation:

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and overheads.

Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and required resources.

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to gather essential project information.

Evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure cost efficiency.

Maintain a database of cost information and unit prices for materials and labour.

Quantity Surveying:

Prepare Bills of quantities of all Civil & Finishes works Items which includes Bar Bending Schedule (BBS)

Should have proper knowledge of Levels which is required for calculation for Excavation & Back Filling Items

Should have knowledge of all type of Slabs - Conventional, PT Slab, Flat Slab for calculation of BBS

To Check Estimated Quantities with Historical Data.

Billing:

To check Final Bills inline with GFC drawings, Records, Levels, IS Codes

To visit the Sites at all locations in PAN India & to check the Bills On Sites with actual measurements to be taken on Site

To check the Bills along with GRN Quantities & as per work order issued to Contractor

Should have proper knowledge of Reconciliation of all Materials

Project Coordination:

Assist in the preparation of project schedules and timelines.

Support project managers in tracking project progress and identifying potential cost overruns.

Participate in project meetings and provide updates on financial status and billing issues.

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in estimation, quantity surveying, and billing in the real estate or high-rise construction industry.

Skills:

Proficiency in estimation and quantity surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, CostX).

Strong analytical and numerical skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.

Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal requirements.
