Job summary

Quantity Surveyor Construction

Key Responsibilities (KRA)

1. Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, BOQs, cost estimates and rate analysis for civil, structural and finishing works.
2. Review drawings, specifications and tender documents to identify scope, quantities and discrepancies.
3. Prepare and analyse material consumption, wastage norms and labour productivity.
4. Prepare and verify subcontractor bills, RA bills, client bills and final bills.
5. Handle Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), reinforcement quantity calculations and reconciliation.
6. Prepare rate analysis for materials, labour, equipment and subcontractor works.
7. Monitor project costs, budget versus actual expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
8. Prepare material reconciliation statements for cement, steel, concrete and other major materials.
9. Coordinate with site, planning, procurement, billing and accounts teams for quantity verification and cost control.
10. Maintain measurement books, variation statements, extra item claims and quantity records for billing and project documentation.

Required Skills: Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, 5- 15 years of experience, strong knowledge of quantity surveying, estimation, rate analysis, BBS, billing, material reconciliation and MS Excel. Experience with a construction contractor or EPC company is preferred.
