Job summary

bigbasket is seeking a Quality Officer to ensure food safety and product quality at warehouse/processing locations in line with FSSAI and company guidelines.

You will conduct quality checks, monitor hygiene and storage conditions, maintain inspection records and coordinate with vendors to resolve quality issues; 4+ years experience in the food industry preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Quality officer in the food industry.
• Experience in FMCG staples is preferred.
• Knowledge of FSSAI, GMP, and GHP standards.

Responsibilities

• Quality checks for raw, in-process, and finished goods.
• Monitor packaging, hygiene and storage conditions.
• Ensure compliance with FSSAI, GMP, and GHP.
• Maintain inspection records and prepare quality reports.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve quality issues.

Role Summary:

Responsible for ensuring quality and food safety standards for Staples (Rice, Pulses, Atta, Spices, etc.) at warehouse/processing locations in line with FSSAI and BigBasket guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality checks for raw, in-process, and finished products.
  
• Monitor packaging, hygiene, and storage conditions.
  
• Ensure compliance with FSSAI, GMP, and GHP standards.
  
• Maintain inspection records and prepare quality reports.
  
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve quality issues.

Skills Required

• Skills Required: HACCP / FSMS Internal Auditor, MS Office etc

Roles & responsibility

• Product quality monitoring at third party re-packers, Customer complaint handling and implementing corrective action, FSMS / HACCP implementation at RPCs, Competitor quality benchmark, Supplier audit etc.
  
• QA/QC in FMCG (Staples preferred).

Educational Qualification:

Post Graduate or Graduate in Microbiology / Food technology / Food science / Biotechnology / Agriculture / Chemistry

Experience Required:

4 Years of experience, Minimum, in the Food Industry as a Quality officer, (Retail experience preferred).
