Job summary

DMart in India seeks a Quality Assurance professional to oversee raw material quality checks, in‑process controls, line clearance and finished goods inspection in our food production operations.

You will maintain quality records, support audits and coordinate CAPA with production and purchasing teams. Candidates should have a BTech/BSc/MSc in Food Technology, Agriculture or Chemistry with FMCG exposure.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Food Technology or BSc/MSc in Food Technology, Agriculture, or Chemistry.
• Experience in quality management within FMCG/food industries is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform raw material quality checks including moisture, infestation, purity, grain size, colour, odour and foreign matter.
• Inspect incoming loose staples for quality parameters and conduct sampling/testing.
• Monitor packing lines for correct weight, sealing, labelling, batch coding and hygiene.
• Ensure FEFO/FIFO practices in usage of raw materials and packaging materials.
• Conduct line clearance checks before production runs.
• Inspect finished goods for compliance with weight, labeling, shelf life and seal integrity.
• Retain samples for shelf-life studies and perform CAPA actions with production & purchasing teams.
• Support internal/external quality audits and maintain QC documentation.

Role & responsibilities

• Raw Material Quality Checks
• Inspect incoming loose staples for quality parameters (moisture, infestation, purity, grain size, colour, odour, foreign matter).
• Verify supplier quality certificates and conduct sampling/testing.
• In-Process Quality Control
• Monitor packing lines to ensure correct weight, sealing, labelling, batch coding, and hygiene.
• Ensure FEFO/FIFO practices in usage of raw materials and packaging materials.
• Conduct line clearance checks before production runs.
• Finished Goods Quality
• Inspect packed products for compliance with defined standards (net weight, labelling, shelf life, seal integrity).
• Retain samples for shelf-life studies.
• Food Safety & Compliance
• Ensure the factory follows FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, and hygiene norms.
• Monitor pest control, sanitation, and staff hygiene.
• Support internal/external quality audits.
• Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain inspection logs, QC reports, and non-conformance records.
• Raise corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) with production & purchase teams.

Preferred candidate profile

• Industry: Preferably from FMCG, Bakery, Dairy, Grocery or any Food Industry
• Qualification: B. Tech- Food Technology/ BSc/MSc-Food Technology/Agriculture/Chemistry
• Key Skills: Proficient in Quality Record Management, Process Orientation & Product Knowledge.
