Job summary

Vrc Plastomould in Nagpur is seeking an experienced Quality Head to take full ownership of the Quality function at our plastic injection moulding facility. You will lead the quality team, manage incoming, in-process and final quality, and ensure OEM quality requirements are met across the plant.

You will independently handle customer complaints, 8D and CAPA processes, coordinate audits, implement APQP/PPAP and related quality systems, and drive root-cause analysis and permanent corrective

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Quality within plastic injection moulding, automotive, or tractor components.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, SPC and MSA.
• Experience handling OEM/customer audits and 8D/problem-solving.
• Proven ability to lead a quality team and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality Department and manage a team of 5 members.
• Own incoming, in-process and final quality to meet OEM requirements.
• Handle customer complaints, containment, root-cause analysis and 8D closure.
• Coordinate audits and prepare 8D, CAPA, PPAP documents.
• Implement and maintain quality systems (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, MSA).
• Monitor KPIs, reject trends and process capability; drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Production, Tool Room, Maintenance, Stores to resolve issues at source.
• Provide quality performance reports to Director and Plant Head.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Quality Head to take complete ownership of the Quality function at our plastic injection moulding manufacturing facility in Nagpur. The candidate will be responsible for managing the quality team, reducing rejection, ensuring OEM quality requirements, handling customer complaints, and independently managing customer audits and quality-related issues.

• Lead and manage the Quality Department and existing team of 5 members.
• Take complete responsibility for incoming, in-process and final quality.
• Independently handle OEM customer complaints, including containment, root cause analysis, corrective action and 8D closure.
• Communicate directly with customers and professionally handle quality-related discussions, complaints and corrective actions.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of 8D, CAPA, PPAP and other customer quality documents.
• Prepare the plant for OEM/customer audits and independently coordinate during audits.
• Implement and maintain APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA and other quality systems.
• Identify root causes of internal and customer rejections and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive reduction of rejection, rework, scrap and customer complaints.
• Monitor process and product quality and ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
• Work closely with Production, Tool Room/Mould Maintenance, Maintenance, Stores and other departments to resolve quality issues at the source.
• Establish effective inspection, testing, traceability and documentation systems.
• Monitor quality performance through relevant quality KPIs, rejection trends and process capability.
• Train, guide and manage the Quality team and ensure accountability for their responsibilities.
• Identify recurring quality problems and implement sustainable solutions rather than temporary sorting/rework.
• Ensure continuous improvement in the overall quality system and manufacturing processes.
• Provide regular quality performance reports and improvement plans to the Director and Plant Head.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• 10+ years of experience in Quality, preferably in plastic injection moulding / automotive or tractor component manufacturing.
• Strong practical experience in plastic injection moulding quality and knowledge of common moulding defects and their root causes.
• Experience working with OEM customers, preferably tractor, automotive or agricultural equipment OEMs.
• Proven experience in independently handling customer complaints, 8D, CAPA and corrective actions.
• Strong practical knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC and MSA.
• Experience in handling OEM/customer audits and maintaining quality-system requirements.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 will be preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.
• Should be capable of leading the Quality Department independently and taking decisions without constant supervision.
• Should be a responsible and dependable professional capable of managing quality operations when senior management is not present.
• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Polymer/Plastics Engineering or a related field preferred.
• Candidates with strong relevant practical experience in the industry may also be considered.

Key expectation: The selected candidate will be expected to take end-to-end ownership of plant quality, so that routine customer complaints, quality issues, audits and corrective actions are professionally handled by the Quality Head without unnecessary escalation to senior management.
