Job summary

Raman Thermosets Pvt Ltd in Bengaluru seeks a Sr. Quality Manager to lead QA/QC across Tool Room and Plastic Molding. This full-time onsite role requires strong QMS expertise and cross-functional collaboration.

You will drive ISO compliance, serve as Management Representative for standards, and lead PPAP, CAPA and Kaizen initiatives while mentoring engineers and ensuring zero-defect manufacturing from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Education: B.Tech/Diploma (or higher) in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or Polymer Engineering.
• Experience: 10+ years in Tool Room and Plastic Molding industries.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on with CMM, VMS, Surface Roughness Testers and metrology equipment.
• Core Competencies: FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, and 7 QC Tools.
• Material Knowledge: Thermoplastic and Thermoset materials.
• Software Skills: MS Office, ERP for quality clearance; CAD knowledge is a plus.
• Leadership: Leading audits and customer interface for quality reviews.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication with production leadership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Sr. Quality Manager oversees end-to-end quality operations for both the Tool Room and Molding Unit, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. This role is responsible for establishing compliance with international standards (ISO), leading mold validations, and managing customer quality interfaces for Tooling Projects along with Thermoplastic and Thermoset products. You will lead a team of quality engineers and inspectors, ensuring rigorous adherence to specifications from concept to production. This role is a full-time salaried position, requiring onsite work at our Bengaluru location.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Establish and sustain robust Quality Management Systems, serving as the Management Representative (MR) for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 standards.
• Tool Room Quality: Control inspection methodologies using CMM, VMS, and Profile Projectors; drive mold correction strategies in collaboration with Design and Manufacturing teams.
• Molding Operations: Lead plant-level QA/QC for Thermoplastic and Thermoset (Injection & Compression) operations, ensuring real-time resolution of shop-floor quality issues.
• Validation & Compliance: Lead trial evaluations, process validations, and Mold Qualification activities; own PPAP documentation and customer approval cycles.
• Root Cause Analysis: Deploy structured problem-solving methodologies (CAPA, 8D, 5 Whys) to investigate customer complaints and internal rejections.
• Process Improvement: Lead process capability studies (Cp, Cpk) and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Kaizen, Six Sigma, and 6S to reduce waste and cycle time.
• Team Development: Plan and optimize quality manpower; build a strong quality culture through structured training on inspection standards and QMS.
• Raw Material Control: Approve inspection of raw materials (SMC, BMC, DMC, Resins) including critical parameters like GF%, density, and shrinkage.
• Audit Management: Lead customer process audits, surveillance audits, and quality governance for New Product Development (NPD).

Requirements

• Education: B.Tech/Diploma (or higher) in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or Polymer Engineering.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in Tool Room and Plastic Molding industries.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with CMM, VMS, Surface Roughness Testers, and other metrology equipment.
• Core Competencies: Expert knowledge of FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, and 7 QC Tools.
• Material Knowledge: Deep understanding of Thermoplastic and Thermoset materials.
