Job summary

Opus Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior QA Manager to lead our Quality Assurance function across desktop and web products. You will define QA strategy, build scalable testing frameworks, and guide a high-performing QA team in an Agile environment.

The role demands strong leadership, hands-on testing expertise (manual and automated), and experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and cloud platforms. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams to ensure release quality

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the overall QA strategy aligned with engineering and product goals.
• Build, develop, and scale QA capabilities to support a growing software engineering organization.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers across manual and automated testing.
• Drive the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated testing frameworks for desktop, web, API, and backend applications.
• Introduce and manage test management platforms, ensuring traceability, reporting, and effective test planning.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Delivery teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC.
• Own release quality processes, including quality gates and production sign-off.
• Define QA metrics and KPIs, monitor quality trends, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Identify quality risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Establish best practices for testing, CI/CD integration, test automation, and quality governance.
• Evaluate and implement modern QA tools, frameworks, and test data management solutions.
• Contribute to customer support activities, technical documentation, and testing-related engagements when required.

Senior QA Manager - Software Development

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Manager to lead our Quality Assurance function and drive software quality excellence across desktop and web-based products. The successful candidate will define QA strategy, build scalable testing frameworks, lead a high-performing QA team, and ensure the delivery of reliable, secure, and high-quality software in an Agile environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong expertise in both manual and automated testing.
• Proven experience leading QA practices within Agile and DevOps environments.
• Hands-on experience with desktop application testing frameworks such as Google Test, pywinauto, pytest, or similar tools.
• Experience with web and API automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools, including Jira, Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Docker, or similar technologies.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with performance, security, and accessibility testing standards and best practices.
• Experience using performance testing tools such as k6 or Locust.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.
• Experience working with engineering or technical software products.
• Knowledge of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
• Exposure to AI-driven testing tools and techniques.
