Job summary

BlackBerry QNX in Hyderabad, India, is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to own Wi‑Fi driver development for native and virtualized platforms. You will lead architecture discussions, design, and implementation of networking subsystems, working with product managers and customers to deliver high‑reliability solutions.

The role emphasizes performance, scalability, and quality, with a strong focus on security, standards, and collaboration across automotive‑tier projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Wi‑Fi driver development across STA/AP/P2P modes.
• Knowledge of PCIe/SDIO/USB interfaces and security methods.
• Familiarity with wpa_supplicant and hostapd and Linux internals.
• Experience with C and Python in embedded systems.
• Exposure to QNX is a plus.

Responsibilities

You will:

• Develop and maintain Wi‑Fi and Networking driver components in an open‑development environment.
• Create and document software specifications and designs that address the needs of QNX customers.

• Provide clear communication with development team members, technical leads, and management on project status, risks and approaches.
• Conduct design reviews, code reviews and unit test with technical peers.
• Identify, analyze,andresolve potentially complex problemsandinadequacies in software.
• Liaises with customers regarding product performance, problems, and system design.
• Develop custom software solutions based on customer requirements.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of current software department approachesandstandards through communication with development team members, technical leads,andmanagement.
• Coach and mentor team on engineering best practices such as writing clean code, designing scalable, reliable, and performant software solutions, set and ensure compliance to software quality standards, safety standards etc.

You will have:

• Proven experience in Wi‑Fi driver development, including STA, AP, P2P, and multi‑mode implementations.
• Thorough knowledge of at least one interface like PCIe/SDIO/USB
• Good knowledge of different authentication/encryption methods on Wi‑Fi
• Understanding of wpa_supplicant and hostapd.
• Good understanding of Wi‑Fi control and data paths.
• Programming languages expertise in C, Python
• Good knowledge in Linux OS internals.
• Exposure to QNX is a huge plus
