Job summary

Suitable AI is seeking a Senior Wi-Fi Software Engineer to lead the development of wireless connectivity for In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems. The role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing Wi-Fi features across Android and Linux, ensuring robust performance and certified compatibility.

You will design and implement Wi‑Fi modules, work across driver, framework, and application layers, and collaborate with BSP, hardware and system teams to deliver high‑quality IVI networking

Job Title: Senior Wi-Fi Software Engineer (Automotive IVI – Android/Linux)

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Wi-Fi Software Engineer to lead the development of wireless connectivity solutions for In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing Wi-Fi features across Android and Linux platforms, ensuring robust performance, seamless connectivity, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Wi-Fi software modules for IVI systems on Android (AOSP) and Linux platforms
• Implement and enhance Wi-Fi features including Access Point (AP), Station (STA), and Wi-Fi Direct (P2P)
• Work on end-to-end feature development across the Wi-Fi stack, including driver, framework, and application layers
• Perform root cause analysis, debugging, and issue resolution across development, integration, and maintenance phases
• Analyze Wi-Fi sniffer logs and pcap traces to troubleshoot complex connectivity and performance issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including BSP, hardware, and system integration teams
• Ensure compliance with Wi-Fi Alliance certification requirements
• Contribute to system stability, performance tuning, and continuous improvement initiatives

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Strong expertise in Wi-Fi features within IVI systems
• Proficiency in C, C++, and/or Java programming
• Hands-on experience with Android AOSP and Linux-based infotainment environments
• In-depth knowledge of Wi-Fi standards: 802.11n, 802.11ac, 802.11ax
• Strong understanding of Wi-Fi security protocols: WPA2, WPA3
• Solid understanding of Android and Linux networking stack
• Expertise in Wi-Fi packet capture, sniffer tools, and pcap analysis
• Experience in executing and supporting Wi-Fi Alliance certification
• Successfully develop and integrate Wi-Fi capabilities for IVI platforms across Android and Linux
• Deliver stable, high-performance Wi-Fi features meeting product and certification requirements
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve critical issues across development and production phases
• Ensure robust system performance through continuous optimization and debugging

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related engineering field
• 8+ years of experience in Wi-Fi software development for Linux and/or Android platforms
• Proven experience working on embedded systems, preferably in the automotive domain

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automotive infotainment (IVI) systems
• Familiarity with hostapd, wpa_supplicant, and Android Wi-Fi framework
• Exposure to performance optimization and low-latency wireless communication
• Understanding of end-to-end connectivity validation and certification processes
