Job summary

  • Experience with Linux driver development including synchronization, interrupts, DMA, and SMP.
  • Familiarity with host interfaces such as SDIO, SPI, USB, PCIe.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Wi‑Fi and network device drivers for Linux, Android, and embedded RTOS.
  • Design and troubleshoot networking solutions based on 802.11 and TCP/IP.
  • Analyze and resolve complex driver issues related to synchronization, interrupts, DMA, cache coherency, SMP, and kernel‑user space.
  • Optimize driver performance to improve CPU utilization, latency, and throughput.
  • Collaborate with customers and cross‑geographic teams to deliver robust solutions.
  • Support system integration, debugging, validation, and performance tuning of embedded networking products.
  • Leverage strong C programming and RTOS concepts to build scalable software components.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and troubleshooting of field issues.
  • Contribute to open‑source initiatives and wireless stack enhancements where applicable.

Job description

We are hiring an Embedded Software Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in the design, development, integration, optimization, and debugging of Wi‑Fi/network device drivers and embedded software solutions across Linux, Android, and RTOS platforms. The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in networking protocols, wireless technologies, kernel and device driver development, and performance optimization. This role requires close collaboration with global engineering teams and customers to deliver high‑quality, scalable, and efficient connectivity solutions.

Key responsibilities in your new role
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Wi‑Fi and network device drivers for Linux, Android, and embedded RTOS platforms.
  • Design and troubleshoot networking solutions based on IEEE 802.11 standards and TCP/IP protocols.
  • Analyze and resolve complex driver issues related to synchronization, interrupts, DMA, cache coherency, SMP, and kernel-user space interactions.
  • Optimize driver performance to improve CPU utilization, latency, and data throughput.
  • Work with host interfaces such as SDIO, SPI, USB, and PCIe for wireless connectivity solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers, hardware teams, and geographically distributed engineering teams to deliver robust solutions.
  • Support system integration, debugging, validation, and performance tuning of embedded networking products.
  • Leverage strong C programming and RTOS concepts to build scalable and reliable software components.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and troubleshooting of field/customer issues.
  • Contribute to open-source software initiatives and wireless stack enhancements where applicable.
Your profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
  • Strong knowledge of 802.11 and good communication skills.
  • Good networking knowledge of TCP/IP
  • Candidate should be good in multitasking of assignments and work according to defined priorities.
  • Candidate Should be able to work with customers and multi-geographic teams.
  • Sound knowledge of Linux device driver development. Specially network device driver is must with respect to how TCP/IP stack would interact with driver under various OS's
  • Strong hold of "C" programming and good at RTOS Concepts, very strong understanding of system primitive
  • Ability to identify issues in the driver synchronization between different threads, also between interaction of application and kernel space
  • Strong working knowledge of interrupt handling in the device driver and issues surrounding DMA/Cache/SMP etc
  • Ability to identify bottle neck in the driver performance and be able to propose solution to overcome CPU utilization and data throughput issues
  • Need strong knowledge of internal working of one of the embedded OS Linux, Android
  • Knowledge of various host bus's like SDIO, SPI, USB & PCIe is a must
  • WPA Supplicant knowledge is a plus
  • Open source development is a plus
  • Candidate with previous Automotive middleware development platform handling, knowledge on Open Synergy/QNX/GENIVI and familiarity with CAN is a plus.
