Job summary

Merkle in Pune, India is seeking a QA Manager to lead QA for Azure Data Factory-based data pipelines and data lake validation. You will design test plans, automate data validation, and drive CI/CD integration with DevOps.

The role requires 10+ years in QA, strong Azure and SQL skills, and ability to mentor a team in an agile environment. Permanent role with day shifts in IST.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of QA experience with leadership exposure.
• Experience with Azure cloud and data pipelines testing.
• Hands-on testing of file-based data lake/Big data solutions.
• Migration or implementation experience of Azure Data Factory projects.
• Strong SQL for data validation and test automation.
• Experience integrating QA into CI/CD pipelines in DevOps.
• Familiarity with data quality frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations).
• Proficiency in Python or PySpark for automation.
• Exposure to Power BI or similar BI tools for visuals.
• Knowledge of Azure services: Data Lake, Synapse, SQL, Key Vault, Logic Apps.
• Experience with test management tools (Azure DevOps, JIRA, TestRail).
• Knowledge of ADLS Gen2 and Databricks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the QA strategy, planning, and execution for ADF-based pipelines.
• Design and implement test plans, cases, and automation for data ingestion and transformation.
• Validate data accuracy and integrity across source, staging, and target stores.
• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business analysts to ensure coverage.
• Develop automated data validation scripts using PySpark, SQL, PowerShell.
• Monitor and report data quality metrics and defects.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
• Mentor junior QA team members and coordinate testing across sprints.
