Job summary

Dentsu Global Services in Bengaluru, India seeks a Lead QA with 6–8 years of experience to ensure software quality and drive QA initiatives. The role focuses on data warehousing, SQL/ETL testing, and leading QA efforts across the project release cycle.

The candidate will design test plans, write SQL scripts, manage defect logs, and mentor a small QA team to improve testing standards and outcomes. Immediate joiner preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master Degree in IT or related field.
• Experience with QA in data warehousing and ETL testing.
• Hands-on SQL and ETL testing.
• Ability to translate requirements into test cases.

Responsibilities

• Define scope and objectives of QA testing at all levels.
• Write test plans, design test cases, develop test SQL scripts, conditions, procedures, and expected results.
• Participate in test planning by identifying testing requirements and scope.
• Ensure coverage for positive, negative, and edge cases.
• Log defects with priority and track to closure; root-cause analysis.
• Perform DWH/database testing and various testing types (functional, regression, load, UAT).
• Validate fixes across test cycles and communicate status to team and clients.
• Recommend remediation for data quality issues and process failures.
• Mentor a team of 2–3 QA associates.

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to ensure the developed software meets the client requirements and the business' quality standards within the project release cycle and established processes. To lead QA technical initiatives in order to optimize the test approach and tools.

Must have skills

1. Hands on Experience in DWH and Database Testing
2. SQL and ETL testing is mandatory
3. Debug the differences and document the issues identified
4. Understand Requirements and translate them into test cases
5. Proficiency with SQL language and Data Warehousing principles
6. Any ETL Tool knowledge
7. Experience on Cloud technologies AZURE prefered.
8. Experience on JIRA and Agile

Good to have skills

Key responsibiltes

1. Define scope and objectives of all levels of QA testing.
2. Write test plans, design test cases, develop test SQL scripts, test conditions, test procedures and expected results
3. Actively participates in test planning by identifying testing requirements, scope and estimates
4. Ensures optimal test coverage comprising of positive, negative and exception scenarios
5. Logs defects with right priority, tracking them to closure and understanding the root cause for an issue
6. Work on DWH / Database testing
7. Perform all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
8. Validate fixes and ensure follow through to all test cycles
9. Investigate and recommend remediation strategies for data quality conditions, and process failures
10. Communicate test status to internal project team and clients(s)
11. Develop and contribute best practices and standards for a solution or across multiple medium/large scale projects/accounts
12. Mentoring a team of 2 to 3 QA Associates

Education Qulification

1. Bachelor's or Master Degree or equivalent Degree or related IT field

Certification If Any

1. Azure certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate.
2. Snowflake Associate / Core
