Job summary

Grown Diamond Corporation is seeking a Purchasing Executive for loose diamonds to manage procurement, pricing, and inventory in our Mumbai on-site facility. You will coordinate with suppliers, internal teams, and customers to ensure timely procurement and optimal stock levels.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in diamond sourcing or purchasing, strong negotiation and Excel skills, and a deep understanding of diamond grading and pricing.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing or diamond sourcing.
• Hands-on experience in loose diamond purchasing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diamond grading, quality, and pricing.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and purchasing/inventory systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Diamond Procurement: assist in purchasing loose diamonds per client requirements and budget.
• Inventory Management: monitor and maintain diamond stock levels.
• Pricing & Negotiation: support pricing decisions and negotiate with suppliers.
• Market Research & Analysis: analyze buying patterns and market trends.
• Supplier Coordination: build relationships with diamond suppliers for timely delivery and quality.
• Internal Coordination: coordinate with factory, sales, marketing, and operations teams.
• Diamond Quality & Grading: stay updated on diamond quality, grading, shapes, colors, sizes.
• Order & Assortment Management: ensure accurate order processing and timely execution.
• Pricing Charts & Product Development: prepare price charts and coordinate with designers.
• Sales Team Support: educate sales on grading, stock, and pricing.
• Customer Coordination: assist customers with diamond quality and sample approvals.
• MIS & Reporting: prepare purchase reports, inventory statements, and pricing updates.
• Budget Support: help prepare departmental budgets and monitor procurement costs.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Purchasing Executive – Loose Diamonds to manage diamond procurement, inventory, supplier coordination, pricing, and purchase execution. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in loose diamond purchasing, a strong understanding of diamond quality and grading, and the ability to coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely procurement and optimal inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

• Diamond Procurement: Assist in purchasing loose diamonds according to client requirements, quality specifications, sizes, shapes, colors, and budget.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain diamond inventory levels, ensuring availability of the right stock to meet business requirements.
• Pricing & Negotiation: Support purchase pricing decisions, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure cost-effective procurement to maximize profitability.
• Market Research & Analysis: Analyze customer buying patterns, monitor diamond market trends, and recommend appropriate pricing adjustments.
• Supplier Coordination: Develop and maintain positive relationships with diamond suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
• Internal Coordination: Coordinate with the factory, management, sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure smooth procurement and stock movement.
• Diamond Quality & Grading: Maintain updated knowledge of diamond quality, grading, shapes, colors, sizes, and availability.
• Order & Assortment Management: Coordinate with the order sheet, assortment, and bagging teams to ensure accurate order processing and timely execution.
• Pricing Charts & Product Development: Prepare quality-wise diamond price charts for the marketing team and coordinate with designers regarding diamond sizes and specifications required for product development.
• Sales Team Support: Educate the sales team on diamond grading, quality specifications, stock availability, and pricing.
• Customer Coordination: Support customer requirements related to diamond quality, sample selection, and sample approval.
• MIS & Reporting: Prepare purchase reports, inventory statements, pricing updates, and other MIS reports related to the diamond division.
• Budget Support: Assist management in preparing departmental budgets and monitoring procurement costs and inventory movement.

Qualifications & Skills Required

• Graduate in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, or diamond sourcing.
• Hands-on experience in loose diamond purchasing or trading is highly preferred.
• Good understanding of diamond grading, quality, shapes, colors, sizes, and pricing.
• Knowledge of inventory management, stock control, and supply chain operations.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Microsoft Office, and inventory or purchasing systems.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
