Job summary

Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end procurement of construction and infrastructure materials.
• Procure materials as per project requirements, BOQ, specifications and approved budgets.
• Source and evaluate vendors, suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors.
• Negotiate rates, payment terms, delivery schedules and other commercial conditions.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and ensure proper documentation.
• Coordinate with Project, Planning, Engineering, Stores, Accounts and Site teams for material requirements.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials at project sites without affecting project schedules.
• Compare quotations and prepare comparative statements for management approval.
• Develop and maintain a reliable vendor/supplier network.
• Monitor market rates and identify cost-saving procurement opportunities.
• Track pending purchase orders, deliveries and material shortages.
• Verify material specifications and coordinate with technical/site teams wherever required.
• Handle procurement of cement, steel, TMT, aggregates, sand, RMC, bricks/blocks, pipes, fittings, electrical and plumbing materials, construction chemicals, hardware, safety materials and other project requirements.
• Coordinate with Stores for material receipt, quantity verification and documentation.
• Maintain purchase records, vendor details, quotations, POs and invoices.
• Ensure procurement is carried out within approved budgets and company policies.
• Resolve vendor-related issues concerning quality, quantity, pricing and delivery.
• Support project teams during urgent and critical material requirements.
