Qualifikationen

• BE in Mechanical/Production Engineering or equivalent.
• MBA in Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
• Relevant experience in procurement and sourcing of BOF, forgings, and engineering components for a manufacturing setup.

Aufgaben

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for BOF and forging components aligned with business requirements.
• Manage end-to-end procurement activities to ensure timely supply and compliance with technical specs.
• Prepare and validate cost estimates based on raw materials, processes, machining and other cost elements.
• Analyse supplier quotations, conduct cost benchmarking, and negotiate prices and terms.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities through value engineering, supplier development and process optimisation.
• Identify, evaluate and develop suppliers to ensure quality, cost competitiveness and reliable delivery.
• Coordinate with Design, Quality, Planning, Manufacturing and Finance to meet business needs.
• Monitor supplier performance, price variations, delivery schedules and quality standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and optimise stock holding to minimise excess and obsolescence.
• Prepare procurement budgets, cost analysis, savings reports and MIS to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Role Summary:

Responsible for strategic sourcing, procurement, costing, and supplier management of BOF and forgings to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, and timely availability of components.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement sourcing strategies for BOF and forging components aligned with business requirements.
2. Manage end-to-end procurement activities, ensuring timely supply and adherence to technical specifications.
3. Prepare and validate cost estimates based on raw materials, manufacturing processes, machining, and other cost elements.
4. Analyse supplier quotations, conduct cost benchmarking, and negotiate competitive prices and commercial terms.
5. Identify cost reduction opportunities through value engineering, supplier development, and process optimisation.
6. Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers to ensure quality, cost competitiveness, and reliable delivery.
7. Coordinate with Design, Quality, Planning, Manufacturing, and Finance teams to meet business requirements.
8. Monitor supplier performance, purchase price variations, delivery schedules, and quality standards.

Educational Qualification:

B.E. in Mechanical / Production Engineering; MBA in Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.

Experience:

Relevant experience in procurement and sourcing of BOF, forgings, and engineering components in a manufacturing organisation.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of BOF and forging processes, cost estimation, should-cost analysis, material specifications, and technical drawings.

Functional Competencies:

Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier development, commercial negotiations, inventory management, cost optimisation, and supply chain management.

Industry Preference:

Experience in valves, heavy engineering, industrial equipment, or automotive manufacturing.
