Job summary

ACG in Pune is seeking an experienced Procurement Professional to maintain and improve on-time delivery of components through strategic sourcing, supplier development, and effective planning for machining, casting, forging, and plastics molding parts.

You will negotiate costs, generate purchase orders, track procurement activities from MRP to GIN, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and PPC to optimize vendor performance and drive VAVE ideas.

Qualifications

• Awareness of manufacturing procurement and processing knowledge.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Experience in purchasing for machining, casting, forging, and plastics molding parts.
• Understanding of financial aspects related to supplier discussions.
• SAP/MS Office proficiency and ability to network internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Procure and plan materials for machining, casting, forging, and plastics molding parts.
• Track procurement activities from MRP run to GIN.
• Develop responsive supplier base through alignment with suppliers.
• Negotiate and drive cost reductions through value engineering.
• Create POs and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with engineering, quality, and PPC to enhance procurement pipelines.

Job description

Job Objective

Maintain and improve the OTDIF of parts with reduction in OLR, Procurement lead time & material cost to achieve top-line and bottom-line targets

Primary responsibilities

• Material Procurement and Planning for Machining, Casting and Forging parts
• Tracking entire Procurement Activities from MRP run to GIN.
• Responsible to develop responsive & capable supplier base by building strong alignment with Suppliers.
• Negotiation and cost reduction by value engineering methods
• Making PO and follow up with supplier to get material in time.
• Work continuously with all stake holders like suppliers, engineering, quality, etc. to generate good pipe line of VAVE ideas
• Co-ordination with Assembly Department for resolving the day to day issues.
• Co-ordination with PPC and Design for better product procurement.
• Expected to have experience in commodities like casting , machining & plastic moulded parts
• Maintain vendor delivery performance data. Be proactive in addressing performance issues
• Supplier Capacity Planning wrt material requirement and timely escalations in case of gaps.

• Awareness of manufacturing processes for Machining ,Casting Process ,Heat Treatment, and Fabrication .Can be from a manufacturing background with hands on experience in machining and fabrication.

• Awareness of applicability of various taxations while buying from within and outside India.

• Good grasping of business model and translation into the requirements in terms of supply base.
