Job summary

Harvel Agua India Pvt. Ltd. in New Delhi is seeking a Purchase Manager with a strong MEP procurement background and experience in plastic products for landscape irrigation and infrastructure projects.

You will manage end-to-end procurement, identify suppliers, evaluate quotations, negotiate terms, and coordinate with Project, Engineering, Stores, Sales and Finance teams to keep projects on schedule. Candidates with 5+ years in project procurement and knowledge of PVC/HDPE plastics will fit well;

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Purchase/Procurement, preferably in MEP/landscape/infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of MEP materials and procurement processes
• Working knowledge of plastic products and materials
• Experience in sourcing PVC/HDPE/PE pipes and fittings
• Ability to read BOQs, technical specifications, drawings and project requirements
• Strong vendor development and negotiation skills
• Good knowledge of local and regional supplier markets
• Ability to manage multiple project procurement requirements simultaneously
• Proficient in MS Excel, ERP/purchase software, MIS reporting

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement for landscape, irrigation and MEP-related projects
• Identify, evaluate and develop reliable suppliers for project materials
• Source and procure plastic-based products, pipes, fittings, valves and related materials
• Handle procurement of MEP materials including electrical, plumbing, mechanical and allied project requirements
• Understand project BOQs, specifications, drawings and material requirements before placing purchase orders
• Obtain and compare quotations from multiple vendors to achieve best price, quality and delivery timelines
• Negotiate commercial terms, payment terms, rates, transportation and delivery schedules
• Prepare and issue POs and ensure timely execution
• Coordinate closely with Project, Engineering, Stores, Sales and Finance teams for project requirements
• Track material availability, dispatches and deliveries to ensure projects stay on schedule
• Develop and maintain a strong vendor network for plastic and MEP products
• Verify material specifications, quality standards and compliance before procurement
• Monitor market prices and identify opportunities for cost reduction
• Handle urgent and project-specific procurement requirements efficiently
• Maintain proper purchase records, vendor comparisons, POs and procurement documentation
• Resolve vendor-related issues relating to quality, quantity, delivery and terms
• Support project teams in identifying suitable alternative materials/products
• Ensure procurement is aligned with approved budgets and timelines

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager with a strong MEP procurement background and practical knowledge of plastic products/materials. The candidate will be responsible for procurement for landscape irrigation and infrastructure projects, where a significant portion of the required materials and components are plastic-based.

The role requires a combination of MEP knowledge, project procurement experience, vendor management and strong understanding of plastic products/materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement for landscape, irrigation and MEP-related projects.
• Identify, evaluate and develop reliable suppliers for project materials.
• Source and procure plastic-based products, pipes, fittings, valves, irrigation components and related materials.
• Handle procurement of MEP materials including electrical, plumbing, mechanical and allied project requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement, preferably in MEP, landscape, irrigation, infrastructure, construction or project-based industries.
• Strong knowledge of MEP materials and procurement processes.
• Working knowledge of plastic products and materials is essential.
• Experience in procurement of PVC/HDPE/PE pipes, fittings, valves and other plastic components will be preferred.
• Ability to understand BOQs, technical specifications, drawings and project requirements.
• Strong vendor development and negotiation skills.
• Good knowledge of local and regional supplier markets.
• Ability to manage multiple project procurement requirements simultaneously.
• Good communication, coordination and follow-up skills.
• Strong commercial understanding with a focus on cost, quality and timely delivery.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/purchase software and basic MIS reporting.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Candidates from MEP Procurement / Construction / Infrastructure / Landscape / Irrigation / Plumbing / Plastic Pipe & Fittings industries preferred.
• Should have practical exposure to project-based procurement rather than only routine/general purchase.
• Candidate should be technically comfortable with both MEP materials and plastic-based products.
• Should be proactive,

commercially sound and capable of independently handling procurement activities.
