Responsibilities

• Procure key raw materials and ensure timely procurement to avoid downtime.
• Develop and maintain relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements.
• Monitor market trends to optimize procurement costs and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspection and approval of materials.
• Generate POs and maintain procurement records; work on ERP systems for tracking.
• Collaborate with production, finance, logistics, and quality teams to ensure timely delivery and issue resolution.

Role & responsibilities :

1. Procurement & Sourcing

• Procure key raw materials such as steel wire rods, insulation materials, and packaging materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers/vendors.
• Ensure timely procurement to avoid production downtime.

2. Vendor Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
• Conduct supplier performance evaluations based on cost, quality, and delivery.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements.

3. Cost Control & Budgeting

• Monitor market trends to optimize procurement cost.
• Implement cost-saving strategies and value engineering initiatives.
• Prepare and manage procurement budgets.

4. Inventory Management

• Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Avoid excess inventory and minimize stock-outs.
• Oversee material planning based on production schedules.

5. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure purchased materials meet required quality standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspection and approval.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

6. Documentation & ERP Handling

• Generate Purchase Orders (POs) and maintain procurement records.
• Work on ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) for procurement tracking.
• Ensure proper documentation for audits and financial controls.

7. Cross-functional Coordination

• Work closely with production, finance, logistics, and quality teams.
• Coordinate for timely delivery, payment processing, and issue resolution.

Preferred candidate profile:

Education

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, Engineering, or related field
• MBA in Supply Chain/Operations (preferred)

Experience

• 8–10 years of experience in procurement, preferably in Wire, Metal Manufacturing Industries, Mechanical, Electronics, Bearing Industries
