We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Purchase Head / Senior Head Purchase with 15–25 years of experience in procurement, preferably from the EPC, Engineering & Manufacturing, and Water & Wastewater Treatment industry.
The candidate will be responsible for leading the complete procurement function, developing strategic sourcing plans, managing key vendors, driving cost optimization, and ensuring timely availability of materials and equipment in line with project and manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the end-to-end Purchase & Procurement function for EPC projects and manufacturing operations.
- Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with project schedules, production requirements and business objectives.
- Handle procurement of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping, structural, civil and process equipment/materials.
- Lead strategic sourcing, supplier identification, vendor development and vendor evaluation.
- Identify, develop and maintain a strong network of OEMs, manufacturers, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Manage the complete procurement cycle including RFQ, quotation analysis, techno-commercial evaluation, negotiation, vendor finalization, PO placement and follow-up.
- Lead high-value commercial negotiations and achieve optimum cost, quality, delivery and payment terms.
- Drive cost reduction, value engineering, alternate sourcing and procurement optimization initiatives.
- Ensure timely procurement of critical materials and equipment in accordance with project and production schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery commitments, quality issues and commercial compliance.
- Develop alternate vendors and sourcing strategies to minimize supply-chain risks.
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Projects, Planning, Production, Quality, Stores, Finance and Commercial teams.
- Review project BOQs, technical specifications, drawings and material requirements to ensure appropriate procurement.
- Resolve critical procurement issues related to price, delivery, quality, specifications and vendor performance.
- Establish and monitor procurement KPIs including cost savings, delivery performance, vendor performance and procurement cycle time.
- Prepare and review procurement MIS, budget reports, cost analysis and management reports.
- Establish strong procurement processes, systems, controls and approval mechanisms.
- Lead, mentor and develop the Purchase/Procurement team.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, commercial procedures and applicable statutory requirements.
- Support management in annual procurement planning, budgeting and strategic sourcing decisions.
- Participate in vendor negotiations, audits, vendor development meetings and supplier performance reviews.
- Ensure proper documentation and control of purchase orders, comparative statements, approvals, contracts and commercial records.
