Job summary

Chennai Radha Engineering Works (CREW) is seeking a procurement professional to manage end-to-end procurement for EPC and industrial projects. You will source, issue RFQs, evaluate offers, and finalize POs/WO with strong supplier coordination.

The role emphasizes cost optimization, vendor negotiations, and on-time delivery of critical items, requiring collaboration with project teams across engineering, planning, quality and finance to ensure compliant procurement execution.

Qualifications

• End-to-end procurement experience for EPC/industrial projects.
• Sourcing for Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural and project equipment.
• Experience building and maintaining supplier bases: OEMs, suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors.
• Ability to prepare and issue RFQs/RFIs and coordinate techno-commercial offers.
• Strong capability to evaluate technical and commercial bids with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities from sourcing to PO/WO finalization and delivery.
• Lead sourcing for Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural, and project equipment.
• Identify and maintain a reliable base of OEMs, suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors.
• Prepare and issue RFQs/RFIs and coordinate offers from suppliers/contractors.
• Conduct detailed technical and commercial evaluations with engineering, project and quality teams.
• Lead commercial negotiations to optimise cost, quality, delivery and contractual terms.
• Finalize POs, Work Orders, and procurement contracts in line with project needs.
• Negotiate terms including price, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, LDs, and taxes.
• Drive cost optimization, value engineering, alternate sourcing, and localization to improve profitability.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of critical and long-lead items per project schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance, expedites, deliveries, and resolve procurement issues.

Job description

Role & responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities for EPC and Industrial Projects, from sourcing and RFQ issuance through purchase order/work order finalization and delivery.
• Lead sourcing activities for Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural, and Project Equipment and associated materials.
• Identify, evaluate, develop, and maintain a reliable base of OEMs, suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors.
• Prepare and issue RFQs/RFIs and coordinate with suppliers and contractors to obtain competitive techno-commercial offers.
• Conduct detailed technical and commercial evaluations of supplier quotations in coordination with engineering, project, quality, and other relevant teams.
• Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and contractors to achieve optimum cost, quality, delivery, and contractual terms.
• Finalize Purchase Orders (POs), Work Orders, and procurement contracts in line with project requirements and company policies.
• Negotiate and manage commercial terms including price, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranty, Liquidated Damages (LD), performance requirements, taxes, freight, and other contractual conditions.
• Drive cost optimization, value engineering, alternate sourcing, and localization initiatives to improve project profitability and procurement efficiency.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of critical and long-lead items in accordance with project schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance, expediting, delivery commitments, and resolve procurement-related issues to minimize project delays.
• Coordinate closely with Project Management, Engineering, Planning, Quality, Finance, Stores, and Construction teams to ensure seamless procurement execution.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with approved vendor lists, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
• Maintain appropriate procurement documentation, commercial records, supplier evaluations, and purchase order status reports.

Preferred candidate profile

BE/B. Tech - Mechanical and Electrical with 815 years of relevant experience in EPC/Industrial Project Procurement.
