Job summary

Volt-age Energy in Pune district, Maharashtra, is looking for a procurement engineer with 3-5 years' experience in electrical components procurement to join the site team.

You will develop procurement strategies, manage vendors, and coordinate with project managers to ensure timely material delivery and compliance with specifications. This role requires strong negotiation, planning, and documentation skills, and the ability to handle multiple vendors across electrical projects.

Qualifications

• B.E. Electrical Mandatory.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in procurement of electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective procurement strategies for electrical components to ensure cost effectiveness and alignment with budget requirements.
• Procure materials as per project and site requirements.
• Study BOQs and identify, develop, and evaluate new vendors.
• Prepare comparison sheets, conduct price negotiations, finalize vendors, and negotiate purchase order terms, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Ensure purchase orders comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Verify vendor documents such as GTP, drawings, type test reports, and Material Quality Plans after PO release.
• Ensure supplied materials comply with client specifications.
• Coordinate with clients and project managers for Third-Party Inspection, MSETCL inspection, and client inspection activities.
• Communicate daily with clients to plan procurement schedules as per site execution activities.
• Build strong client relationships through timely support, issue resolution, and procurement coordination.
• Coordinate closely with project managers and site teams to ensure uninterrupted project execution.
• Assess company requirements for safe and smooth operations and optimize inventory accordingly.
• Prepare and submit monthly purchase budgets.
• Coordinate with the accounts department to ensure timely vendor payments.
