Job summary

Sterling & Wilson Private Limited Mumbai seeks an experienced Procurement Engineer (Electrical) for MEP projects. 10–15 years of experience in electrical item procurement is required, with strong SAP MM exposure and vendor management skills.

Based in Mumbai, you will drive techno-commercial offers, cost analysis, and contract coordination. You will manage supplier negotiations, track procurement progress, and ensure timely delivery while aligning with project requirements and internal ERP

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication capability.
• Sound technical knowledge of electrical items used in MEP projects.
• Ability to develop cost bases for engineering products and services.
• Proficiency in management reporting (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and internal processes.

Responsibilities

• Floating enquiries to get techno-commercial offers and evaluate them.
• Coordinate commercial negotiations with vendors post-technical evaluation.
• Prepare procurement tracker and ensure timely material delivery per project requirements.
• Manage contracts and ensure availability of documents for technical evaluation.
• Coordinate with project execution team for logistics and vendor performance.

Job description

• Floating enquiries to get techno commercial offers in time
• Evaluation of commercial offer received
• Cost base analysis to arrive cost to be finalized
• Post technical evaluation report, Commercial negotiations with vendors
• Ensure availability of required documents post order for technical evaluation
• Contract management
• Ensuring timely delivery of material as per Project requirement including logistics in coordination with project execution team.
• Preparing Procurement tracker
• Required exposure to SAP MM Module
• Required exposure of Import, Export and freight forwarder
• Periodic evaluation of vendors based on quality, delivery and cost performance
• Payment follow-up with Finance and execution coordination with project team.

Qualification/Experience:

• Graduate Electrical Engineer from a premier engineering institute in India.
• 10 to 15 years of professional work experience of Electrical items procurement in MEP contracting Industry.

Desired Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication capability
• Sound technical knowledge in terms of various electrical items used in MEP projects
• Ability to develop cost basis for various engineering products, services and packages
• Proficiency in management reporting (using excels, power points)
