Job summary

Xpert Consulting is seeking a Purchase Engineer from Automation and Packaging Equipment industries to build and maintain a supplier database, interpret drawings, and coordinate with vendors.

The role interfaces with sales, production, engineering, and customer support to ensure timely deliveries, cost-effective procurement, and continuous improvements in manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of procurement & supply chain experience.
• Candidate from Automation, Packaging Equipments Industry.
• Ability to interpret machine drawings (dimensions, tolerances, symbols).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a comprehensive supplier database for parts (manufactured and commercial).
• Interact with vendors for quotations, cost negotiations, and procurement terms.
• Evaluate and negotiate with vendors, finalize purchases, and ensure timely delivery.
• Manage procurement costs without compromising quality, driving efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with sales, production, engineering, and customer support teams.

Purchase Engineer :

- candidate should be from Automation, Packaging Equipments Industry.

- Build and maintain a comprehensive supplier database for both manufactured and commercial parts.

- Interpret machine drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and symbols.

- Regularly interact with vendors for quotations, cost negotiations, and procurement terms.

- Evaluate and negotiate with vendors, finalize product purchases and ensure timely delivery.

- Manage procurement costs without compromising quality, focusing on efficiency improvements.

- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (such as machining, fabrication, surface finishes, etc.)

- Utilize ERP systems for procurement operations (knowledge of ERP is an advantage).

- Collaborate & Interact with sales, production, engineering, and customer support teams.

Relevant Experience:

experience of 4 -7 years in the domain of procurement & supply chain.
